Morning Pink and those to follow.

Up early to beat the sun this morning. 1.5 hr run covering 11.5 miles. Miles 7 -10 were to be 5K plus 50 secs and I came close running7:11, 7:03, 6:54, and 7:00. Hard to run much faster than that for me just rolling out of bed.

McSolar - looks like a nice tough workout yesterday for you.

I had a great 2 mile run this morning, no stopping, just feeling great. What a nice way to start the day. I wish I could bottle this.

Enjoy your day, all.

Finally a cool morning, so I took advantage of it with an 8-miler on the shady Clinton River Trail -- my longest run in a while.

I've mainly been in training for a week-long cycle trip coming up in a couple of weeks. It goes several hundred miles along Michigan's western shoreline from near Muskegon up to Mackinaw City, stopping in towns like Traverse City and Harbor Springs along the way. Should be fun!

Take care, everyone, and have some good runs (or rides) this week!

I took this morning off as I had been up very early and had a busy weekend racing. I was not home much so this has also kept me off the forum.

The main events of the weekend were collecting the MGB and my triathlon

http://wp.me/pTBCs-2Z - I have written a blog and it is quite long so easier to put a link in for the interested.

Here is a picture of the car: http://upic.me/e81hf

Suffice to say I am feeling pretty good today.

How are things going on Masters registering for VRAA and should I join in ?

Thank you Susan. That is so much more upbeat.

2.4 untimed and pretty slow recovery miles for me today, followed by a full core and flexibility workout at the Y. This tees up the rest of my week pretty well I think.

Tons of work in the home office this week that I am pretty excited about, off to get started. Spareribs

Good morning.

Great workout, ks, and mc yesterday.

Belated happy birthday, Opie!

roch, nice run. My sil just finished a bike tour in the eastern tip of the UP. She had a great time.

gobi, good going on your tri.

I had a discouraging run on the towpath yesterday where a bit under MP felt harder than it should. I will blame H&H. This morning it is gorgeous out there. I did a quick 3 miles, uphill 1.5 then down. Felt much better.

Gobi, no word yet from the New Commish on a Masters team. Looks like Hally's plea is still the last message in that thread - unless the Commish PM'd Hally directly about it - but Hally likely would have mentioned it if she had. . .

i'll run tonight after work. Still in the upper 90's here today, but then we actually cool off to upper 80's tomorrow! whoo hoo!!

I'm not sure what tomwhite is talking about, but sounds like a good day to take cover.

I missed Opie's birthday? Belated greetings, friend. Hope it was fun and you got to eat cake, or something like it.

My quads are strangely sore this morning. I think the only time I really feel quad soreness the last few years is the day or so after that race. Even a downhill lover like me pays the price for all that pounding. I don't know that I'll have time to do any sort of workout today. We have a "house guest" coming from San Antonio and DH invited him to stay at our house instead of a hotel. Egads. This guy is his boss, inasmuch as an independent guy can have a boss. I guess I'd better vacuum up some cat hair and hide stuff.

Rest day from running for me today. Though I'm feeling a bit challenged by that concept, since I don't feel I need the rest. But I'm trying to be smart and proactive about preventing injuries for a change... much the same way as I'm making efforts to eat before I'm hungry, lest I lose all control when famished and eat everything that isn't nailed down. So far so good, on both those accounts.

So I spent the morning driving a half hour away to a mall where DD is having a camp trip today, in order to intercept her and get her broken retainer from her. What a wonderful coincidence that they're having this trip today! I got the call from her camp on Saturday that it broken. Drove back to town, dropped it off at the dentist... and within the hour was back on the road to deliver the repaired dental appliance to her. A final drive home, 85 miles later, it's now lunch time. :)

So this is what it's like for "normal" people, eh?

Yoga on tap this evening, assuming my son doesn't need my car for his camp staff meeting. Ah, more normality...
Happy belated Opie! You, me and the Labduck will have to celebrate our birthdays when we get together.

Nice PR Erika!

DS and me at the low-tide run on Saturday. I was amazed how hard 250 yards could be. More than a few people had to be rescued after getting stuck thigh-deep.

I missed several birthdays, it appears. Labduck and Dove, I hope they were fabulous!

I know, tw. You sure are quick on the draw. You caught that before I had a chance to fix it.

Maybe if I practice like you I will become a sharpshooter.

Tamster and Gobi, she did not reply to me via PM. I am still trying to figure what kind of an ass I am and haven't signed up yet.

I ride at least 70 miles a week and then other stuff, does that make me mega? Hard to think of myself as mega, an ass, not so much

Dove, neat race with DS!! I must have missed it was your Bday too, or did I wish you one elsewhere? Anyway hope it was grand.

Dove's birthday is Sunday. Then she, Labduck & I will be the same age. I'll be offline so somebody else can do an official thread then!

Belated birthday wishes are kinda good because it's like it lasts all week. Tomorrow I get to have cake at the Election Board. Party primaries for state offices (and non-partisan judges when there are more than 2 candidates) on the ballot.

Weights before work was very good. Running tonight.

Happy Birthday, Opie!

I just caught on on all the goings-on around here. Yesterday's was an entertaining read! You folks are a hoot!

Some greta runs happening around the weather forecasts too. Congrats, you know who you are.

I got my butt kicked yesterday on the links. Oh well, it happens. But by the end of the round my butt and hamstring felt like they were literally getting kicked. Today I'm starting ibu and staying on the elliptical for most of the week. And there's another session with my MT. I can't wait to get back out on the roads.

And then in October, the three of us 61'ers are going to be in Arizona together to celebrate. Opie and I will drink beer and give Dove moral support (and running too...) as she runs in her 100 mile race. It's as close to an ultra that I am ever going to get!

RAW w/ the Niketown run group. I sure hope that some of the Portland State women's x-country team doesn't show up. I'm not in the mood to get chicked...again...

Greta pic of Dove and son after having fun in the mud! Did I miss the RR? And what the heck are they using for medals?

Nice tri, Gobi!

50 minute spin class in the work gym after hours. Meant to take it easy, but did I? Noooooooooo. Legs felt great, although AT's are still too tight from yesterday's trail outing. I think it's time to look for trail shoes with more support. XT Wings might be an option, but they're pricy.

The medals are gold painted oyster shells. I love unique medals for unique events. No RR, but I'll write a little summary in tomorrows daily.

Lab: you outed yourself and Opie so now I can openly talk about how excited I am to have you guys crew and pace for me.
