Happy Monday, all!

Has the banana scared everyone away that nobody wants to start today's thread? Is the daily thread falling out of vogue? Did I miss the memo?

7 easy miles + lower body workout

Edit: At least ksrunr is brave enough to stand up to the banana.

Morning all,

Are you all waiting for someone to start or am I the only one left?

Nice and brisk 40 degrees this morning. Not enough clothes to start and too much at the finish of a 6 miler. Hope my marathon is exactly this temp without any wind!

Let's get started now.

I personally like the daily thread better than the weekly summary of our goals. I kinda live day to day right now. Physical therapy and increased number of meetings due to our new library building project are taking out huge chunks of my running time, so sometimes my goal falls apart and I need to readjust quickly.

Susan, who had PT this morning. Will run tomorrow.

Yes...we want a daily thread! Thanks for breaking the ice, Millbot.

I woke up nice and early this morning for a coolish 4 mile run. I'm dedicating myself to being a nutrition hawk this week, after several days of poor management. (Read: overeating). Nothing motivates better than starting the day with some exercise.

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. Ready or not, the holidays are upon us.

That's a safe bet, tomwhite. You can leave the "how" for later.

Hey guys,
Glad you're feeling better Tom.
Dreary rainy looking seasonal weather here
-maybe it'll keep the bananas under control.

I'm just resting today.

But I may surprize my DW and put up a string of icicle lights and a wreath this PM.
I'm always pretty bad when it comes to holiday decorations, and the other day she had conceded that it wasn't going to happen this year. So I may try to leave early and get something up for her. She's has her licensure exam this Sat for an LCSW. She dreads it, me too.
Keep her spirits up.
Morning all,

Five easy miles along the river. The trees wore a coating of wet snow that fell last night and covered the grass, but not the pavement. The rains will wash it all away by this afternoon.

100 situps, 3x30s SSide planks each side, seated calf raises, lunges.

of course we must have a daily chat thread! And if we want to talk about a bit of running in it we can. I can't imagine a day here w/o you guys where we couldn't chat a bit about whatever!

Today is my first real rest day in 7 days. That Maintain Campaign motivated me to do something everyday, even when I normally would have rested. But today, I'm working all day, then I have a meeting after work to go to, so won't get home til a little after 7 p.m. I'll probably do my abs and planks tonight, but that's it.

I need to figure out my schedule for the week and get that posted on the weekly thread. I was surprised that I pretty much stuck to what I had sketched in for the week last week. My mileage varied a bit, but I think I only ended up a couple miles short of what I planned. And I got in some running 6 of the 7 days. A first for me. Although my 2 miles on Sunday barely counts. I just could not leave that treadmill untouched since I was at the gym and had the time to get in a workout. The sides of my torso are a little sore today, so those planks I did yesterday must have been good!
I'm anxious to hear about Johnny's zen-yoga experience tonight. Since I offered him demonstration lessons on the foam roller and how to do planks, I wonder if he'll return the favor by teaching me some yoga poses?

millbot, hand the weaponry to 'Stang. I'd rather have her shooting herb than fowl. And, yes, bananas are herbs. I know my herbs.
Susan, the Weekly is a fine tool to keep an eye on what we're doing. It allows a person to get bossy if someone is overworking or slacking. Just fill it in as you go; don't sweat the planning.
runin, try my hot cereal recipe (isn't anybody going to try it?) It's like a grainy grader that will scrape the crud outta your system (hey, tomwhite?)

I exercised like a banshee this a.m.

12 x 2 "lengths" HARD with 1 minute rest
20 minutes running in swirly pool
rowing - 5x500metres (avg. 207.6/500, 30 s/m)
5 mins planks with mb (no mb with choovieplank)
12 chinups front/reverse hand position
full PT exercise set, bosu ab stuff ...

Gordon, I dunno yet. I'm kinda thinking I might want to find some flat fast course and try to lay down a honking PR. (Better stop thinking that way for now, la la la)
So millbot is having prurient pigeon pose thoughts and JJJ is hoping to surprise DW by getting "something up for her." What's not to like about the daily?

SS...honkin' PR...yep, I like the sound of that. Where is Soundie's report? (scurrying off to find it)

ETA: Soundie, woohoooo! Most excellent! But how on earth? -- that course is so crowded!
