Good morning everyone,

18 more days 'til spring but it feels like spring here this morning...40F and sunny.

10.14 miles of hills @ 9:13 pace...less than 2 weeks to go before Virginia Beach.
I"m hoping for this kind of weather!

Well, at least there was a touch of Spring in the air this morning, with temps in the high 30s, which feels mild at this time of year. In fact, I wore exactly what I have on in my avatar over there (sans race number). I blew away February's total miles with an easy 1.5-mile run this morning. Unfortunately the leg did not feel as good as I'd hoped, and I'm wondering where to go from here. I think I'll try again on Wednesday and evaluate if it feels better or worse. If it's worse, I might be looking at another month of no running .

Have some good runs today & this week, everyone!

Good morning everyone. It's supposed to get up to 50 here in NY today!

I had a good xt workout this morning with 30 minutes rowing, 20 mins weights (upper body work), and 10 mins stretch. Tomorrow I'll be running again.

I can't wait for VRAA7 to start on Friday!

Happy running to all,
Hi everyone. Just finished reading yesterday's thread. Wanted to comment about that PNW bent idea. We sure enough have plenty of easterner's on this forum, Pink and Gin and me and Pro and Rtravers and LaT, Riley, Rosie, PeterNC,OM,etc etc. Just doesn't seem like there is such a hurry to post. Different dynamic I think more then a coastal bias.

Nice longest run ever Choovie! And helluva race Arrojo!
Excuse my feeble mind, can't keep track from reading to posting

Last day to sign up for VRAA!

roch---sorry about the leg......

6 sluggish miles this morning. The hills felt like mountains! I did manage 6 strides but I'm sure glad I'm done.

Gotta work tonight but hope to catch the last half of the Uconn/Rutgers women's game. Go Huskies!!!!!

hally, I was thinking that too -- a different dynamic more than a matter of time zones.

I'm starting to feel human again. Working out the residual crud.

Good morning Kicksters!

Send some of that warmth my way, will you? It was 17 degrees this AM in the Commonwealth for my 10K EZ/recovery run (53:50, 8:39 pace OA).

JJJ - that was a great read yesterday about your trail/mountain run.
Evanflein - that's a shame about your luggage. Did you ever get it back? Congrats on the relay race division win. I'm looking forward to the RR.

Here in Albany, we're supposed to see a high around 45F today. Might be 40 when I get out to run - should be very pleasant, if not quite shirtless mile weather. (Then again...). Another east coast-er here, though I did grow up listening to the Beach Boys and Jan and Dean. Will report back when I return. Hoping for an easy pz 4 miler.

No idea what millbot is talking about here -

gin79 - nice hillwork!!! Speaking of UConn and Rutgers, I have managed to run or walk past or through 4 university capuses this week-end - I feel as if just being in contact with these fine institutions of learning has increased my grey matter.

Happy trails!!!

LaT, go to the Post Race Tent and check the POTD thread (person of the day). Millbot is the current POTD and he answers questions about his life and running.

Just finished reading yesterday's thread -- what amazing runs... JJJ, I almost pulled my SWVA AT maps to see where you were -- love the open forest at this time of the year. Hooray Tamster!

Neat POTD, Milbot -- yea for #7, and thank you for the pointer to the bad-runs slide show.

Gorgeous day here - 48 degrees and sunny when I went out for 2.4 on the cross country track across the street. Am trying to stretch the joglets to 55 left feet... this was day 1.

Good runs, all...

Morning all,
After 30 hours of no sleep and 5 legs of the TIR (Texas Independence Relay) I slept for 11 last night. Covered 30.3 miles for the team which turned out to be 5 races (not an endurance event). Now I'm going to rest 3 days before ramping up for VRAA. I'll write a summary later but think we finished in top 10 of 127 teams and won master's men of only 3-4 teams by less than a minute of 204 miles of racing. Time of 26:40:16 and our predicted time of 26:42:00.

That's fantastic, ksrnr! Rest up. Congratulations Sand y Sol team! You rawk! Masters runners are awesome!
Still feeling sick with some sort of virus, so no run. This morning I felt a bit better so rode my bike to school, but as the day wears on I'm wearing out. Good runs, rests, and XT's to all.

ks - woo - 30 hrs of no sleep with 5 races! Congrats - sounds like your team did well.

7.5 miles of getting my butt kicked by the wind. It was a struggle at times - specially the last 2 miles home. Avg 8:14 pace.

I'm trying yet again to start posting to the dailies. For some reason, I have the best of intentions, but always quit posting after a day or two. I think it's the self-imposed pressure to say something profound or witty. So, for my next attempt at daily postings, I'm going to keep it brief:

3 mile walk and weight training this morning. This is a recovery/cut-back week for me.
