i apologize that this is so late.. i had a crazy beginning of december.

1. Why do you run?

i run because running grounds me, anchors me. this past july i went through a period of time in which i was challenged professionally and personally in a way that i've never been challenged before.. and i can honestly say that running was the only thing that was a constant in my life and i took so much comfort in that.

2. What is your greatest accomplishment?

i think working full time while going to grad school full time is def one of my greatest accomplishments. it was sooooooo friggin' hard. i shudder just thinking about it.

3. What is your motto/theme song?

during one chicago marathon, i was running in the latino section of town and the crowd was chanting "si se puede" and that has stuck ever since

4. How do you deal with bad runs?

i try not to beat myself up too much. its hard, tho. i have very high expectations of myself.

5. Do you reward yourself for good runs? How?

yes. for every long run, i'll reward myself with a food item even if its something small like chocolate milk, a coldstone's ice cream, or a bagel. i find it easier to focus on food to motivate myself through some of the runs

6. Who do you admire most?

i admire my DH. he is one of the most intelligent, hardworking people i've ever met. i heart him so.

7. What is the greatest advice you have ever received?

you can't win them all.

8. What do wish you had learned younger?

i wish my parents had pushed me to be more active so that i wouldn't have succumbed to obesity and the subject of countless jokes growing up
9. What do you wish you could do but can't?

i wish i could go to africa and deliver babies there but right now, i can't.

10. How would your friends describe your personality?

spontaneous, sassy, and loyal

11. What do you wear running? favorite outfit?

my brother just bought me a new running outfit and its my fave: nike capris and a super cute tank top

12. What has been your favorite race?

NYC marathon, hands down.

13. Do you have a goal race right now?

i'm planning on running the flying pig in may and also the lakefront marathon in oct

14. What makes you happy?

15. Tell us one interesting thing about you that you haven't said (at least not often) on this forum in the past.

my passion is women's health and delivering babies. i could not see myself doing anything else and i consider myself lucky that i have discovered my purpose in life and am living it out

16. Tell us one interesting thing about another user of this forum that has not been posted (at least not often) on this forum in the past (make sure the other person will not object to posting the info!).

i PMed TJOCF (becca) in response to some thread about newbies outing themselves and PMing a regular PRTer. i wasn't sure what to expect but she was so incredibly responsive, warm, and welcoming the two of us also have a lot in common when it comes to running as well.

thanks for reading!!!!!!!
