Mini-Essay: On Youth Gone By

<p>  Ten years ago when we moved in to this house we installed a swing set for DS. He is now sixteen so the set doesn't get much use anymore - hence the title. I realized a few days ago, though, that it would make a great subject for me to practice my photographic skills, and the following are some of the better shots. As usual, comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated. In this case I'm thinking this could make a decent photo essay, so if you have comments on my sequencing I'd appreciate them as well.</p>

<p>  That photo of the screws was the first one that jumped out at me when I took these pictures, although I was worried that it was slightly out of focus. As for any stories, though, I don't know what they would be. Maybe the swingset has a secret life I don't know about.</p>

That, to me, is what sells this picture. I took another one that was more directly face-on, and it's nowhere near as interesting as this one.<br>
