Ailarie, bella has a sensitive stomach but not allergies. In general, it seems like dogs do much better on grain-free diets. The fillers they use really are crappy. All of the foods mentioned here are excellent choices - you can see for yourself at dogfoodanalysis.com . We feed bella wellness ocean formula, which is an arm and a leg (dh jokes she eats better than we do!).

Craney oi s hawt, hawt, hawt!

Great job, Tim!

Too bad the weather wasn't better in Chicago...

I'm gonna get back out today for some kind of run. I'm gonna run a race each of the next three weekends. (5k, HM, 5k). At least that's the plan...

Morning all!

18 years ago today I was getting hitched!

Mindi - sorry that the weather gods threw a monkey wrench at Chicago (again), but I give you tons of credit for making the decision you did. Hopefully your rational thinking pays off in GR.

Tim - nice race report. As always, when I see one of ours in a relay, I think "damn I need to do one of those". But you left out an important detail - what post race libations were there? I have to assume that there was some bourbon involved

4.5 sleasy miles. Did the same amount of time a few weeks ago and was at 4.2 miles. Same HR, so a little progress...

Litch- Happy Anniversary! Do you have a wedding photo of you and Mrs. Litch to show? I love looking at people's wedding pictures.

I woke up with a headache this morning. Not a migraine, I can function, but it is being stubborn. 2 hours after taking ibu and almost an hour after beginning my morning caffeine, it's lesser but not gone. Bah. On a better note, my 1st appointment was super easy and a really nice guy to boot. Non-traditional student, he is finishing up a BA after his oldest child has already graduated from here. He's so excited to be graduating this spring.

Morning. I think I have a case of the Monday blahs, though there's no real reason for that. Chiro this morning, then lunch with a colleague and a super long meeting at church tonight. Hopefully there's fun in there somewhere.

Mindi, I think DNFs from under-training are so much more galling than from injury or wisdom. Which is why the NettieGoon show was so awesome. How easy would it have been for them to pull the plug? Yet they persevered. Awesome! Good luck in Grand Rapids!

Way to go on a great effort, solar! I'm sorry you had problems after the half, but I'm sure the soak in the ocean made up for that a little. I'm always so jealous when you report doing that!

So awesome, Tim! Way to leave it all on the course!

I want to see the other Tim's wedding photo, too. Congrats on many happy years and best wishes for many more.

Hey folks. I need to catch up on everything but wanted to pop in to ask for any spare vibes you all had. Thursday I found out there is a very strong possibility that I will be losing my job. I am trying to have faith that it won't happen but 10% of my group will be laid off next week and we are kind of unclear on the process so at this point, anything is possible. Because that wasn't enough stress, got a call Friday that DH's Gran had a stroke. Made it over Sat to say goodbye and got the call yesterday that she passed. So, crapola few days.

What type(s) of reflective/protective gear do you wear now that it's getting darker out? My early a.m. outdoor classes are growing (which is GREAT!), but very few of them own or wear anything reflective. This morning I had to yell at one of the longtime regulars because she showed up in a black top with nothing reflective on. She knows better... The streets we run on are not well lit, and I'm so afraid that someone will get hurt out there.

I like the simple blinky lights but will sport a head lamp if I can't see too.

I guess a lot of my clothes have some reflective stuff on them too.

((((Beaker)))) Of course I hope you keep your job, but what a load of stress for those being laid off and those being left behind.

QOD- I have a reflective vest similar to this. I like it better than having reflective clothing, because I can wear it over my normal running clothes no matter what the weather brings. It is even light enough to wear in the late summer when the sun is rising later but the temps are still warm/humid. The serious reflective clothing is more expensive than normal running gear and where I live, you'd need different shirts/jackets for the different seasons. I also have a blinky light that I got as a promo somewhere along the way.

He ran about 16 of the race with a woman from our club. I guess at mile 16 she stopped and hyperventilated and almost threw up. Amazingly he talked her through it and she almost evenly split that SOB. (that SOB being Chicago...not DH)

Feel better soon, brandy! The cold-eze tablets have always been a good thing for me. Hopefully they will for you too (and I swear by OJ and chicken soup - just not together, obviously)

Qod: no answer here, because i can't see worth squat in the dark. if I'm outdoors running, it's when there's enough light that cars should have no problem seeing me. :)

Morning 30's. Sorry about the poor weather in Chicago and Runnin you will have a great race this weekend. The last marathon I ran I DNF and it is the only one I haven't finished. I was in the best running shape I have ever been in and on race day it was 30 and rainy and I had been training in the California heat all Summer. I froze and eventually had to drop out at about 24 miles. I should have dropped out earlier and run a different marathon the next week.

QOD I do most of my runs on the TM so if it is dark I am safe.
