Studio day today, which is and isn't fun. Is, because I enjoy working with clay. Isn't, because my back already hurts and I haven't even done anything yet.

I get to unload the wacked out kiln later today and see if anything bad happened. I sure hope not.

Good morning!

Fun: I finished both of my papers, so my mind is a little more at ease for the moment.

Also fun: Walked over to the farmer's market this morning. Got a super yummy carrot muffin. It took all I had not to devour the whole thing.

Enjoy your weekend!!

Not sure this qualifies as fun, but this potential trademark dispute is really funny to me.

Baby Gaga mother’s milk

A restaurant in London has started selling ice cream made from breast milk, called Baby Gaga. Fifteen young mothers supplied their milk and received an unknown payment in return. There are no English laws that prohibit the use of (human) breast milk. Of course, the milk is first fully checked for pathogens. Ms. Victoria Hiley delivered the first three liters, enough for the first fifty servings.

When served the ice cream is flooded with liquid nitrogen and a cracker is added. The dessert is then served by waitresses in a “Baby Gaga” costume. On the first day of the launch, the ice cream immediately sold out and the responses were very positive. The name is of course very reminiscent of the famous pop star LADY GAGA. She has registered her name as a trademark for entertainment, CDs and printed materials, but also for clothing and jewelry, not for ice cream. Nevertheless, that is not an immediate problem in this case because LADY GAGA is in fact a reputable trademark. This means that the trademark may even be invoked against similar and identical marks that are used for completely different products, such as in this case ice cream. LADY GAGA has not filed a complaint up until now, however. Perhaps the fact that

she rather enjoys unusual and bizarre activities has prevented her from taking any steps.

Just made fresh squeezed lemonade. My sister and BIL are having people over to hang out and make grilled pizzas. Tomorrow at my other sister's, we are having Thanksgiving in May. My BIL is smoking a turkey on the grill, we will have sweet potato salad, regular potato salad, something with green beans, etc. All picnic foods, mind you, but inspired by Tgiving flavors. We did this 2 years ago when someone was given a couple of turkeys just before Memorial Day, so we came up with this idea. It's become a tradition. We are strange like that.

Hi all - I hope you all are having fun with your families and other folks this weekend.

Kinda' missed out on the fun yesterday. Not really up for hanging around on a day was kind of crappy weather-wise (cloudy, windy, unseasonably cool) but the setting was kinda' nice (on the delta at my uncle's resort.) Could take the boat out or stand at the dock and fish and hang out.

Anyway, just making progress on the road back - the incision area seems to be making due progress toward healing, and maybe I'll return to work earlier than scheduled (heh!)

Weekend, folks. I've gotten some work done, but I've spent most of the weekend so far messing around. I went shopping today to buy a wok, but ended up with a crapload of stuff. I'm in the middle of the third load of laundry and I don't have any more room on my drying rack. One more load to go. Thankfully, I may turn on the AC soon. (Thankfully in the sense that it's warm enough to need the AC.) I've decided to start eating like I'm diabetic in the hopes of preventing myself from becoming diabetic. We'll see how long that lasts. My cat is sleeping on the floor in a spot of sun and making me smile, just like this video does every time I watch it.

For those with a long weekend, enjoy it!

And here we go again. More storms. Pffththt. (I enjoy a good storm, but jeez. This is like day 20 of rain here.)

Bard, if you're up this way I hope your picnic (the food sounds YUMMY!!!) is finished or inside, else you might get zapped by lightening. Or sucked up by a tornado.

Kath- we were grilling our pizzas outside, and one of my BIL's friends had brought over a canopy where they had secured the support lines under big logs. The storms mostly skipped to the north of us, so we had some lightning, heavy rain bursts and wind gusts, but nothing to bad we had to take cover. Mom was paying close attn to the weather though.

Mmm...all this food talk is making me hungry!

I'm pretty sore today from my weekend run. My quads are letting me know they're not impressed!

Lena's birthday is a week away so I have to make up my mind what we're doing for it. Everytime I ask her, she has a different answer. So I can't very well go by that!

My exercise study people didn't want to work today (that whole hour I'm in the gym) so I took a heart rate monitor home and exercised on the roads by myself. It was weird to be out on the route that I ran so frequently when I was actually running, but it was good nonetheless. A week from tomorrow is my last mandated exercise day and I need to feel good about getting out there on my own.

I washed a bunch of dishes and I'm going to pop in a movie in a second. After the movie, I'm making a fruit tart and then I'll work on a vegetable casserole and homemade sweet and sour chicken. All out of the diabetic cookbook. I'm really looking forward to dinner!

Funny how differently they react to the process. The one you'd think would be all laid back about it squirms around, and the one who you'd think would run away sits on the step of the deck and lets me have at it and looks all orgasmic when I scrub his hind quarters.

Didn't get as much done this weekend as I wanted. Haven't thrown any pots yet today, and I don't know if I will. Going to mix 2 batches of glaze and unload the kiln (and get set up to glaze tomorrow), and I might be done for the day at that point.

I'm just wiped out.
