1. Why do you run?

Because every step that I take proves to me that I can do what I never thought I could. Because each breath that I take when I'm running is new. Because I still wake up excited to run.

2. What is your greatest accomplishment?

Me. Theme Song: Molly O'Malley's by Peter Mayer.

"Over the doorway painted bold, a question begs your pardon, 'Is this the place of many souls or just one very large one?' Over the bar another reads, "'Are there many songs or just one that goes on and on. . .'"

4. How do you deal with bad runs?

Walk. Bitch. Moan. Sometimes cry. Then I remember that a bad run means I am running. That always makes me feel better.

5. Do you reward yourself for good runs? How?

I am usually so giddy after a good run that I don't need any more of a reward than that feeling. Oftentimes I will have some words in my head that I need to write down as well - sometimes I share those here and people here are always kind and supportive. That kind of positive reinforcement goes a long ways as well.

6. Who do you admire most?

Children.

7. What is the greatest advice you have ever received?

It wasn't so much advice as it was learning the difference between the person and the deed. I cheated on a math test in 6th grade - as did the boy who sat next to me. Our teacher caught us. I was devastated. This woman was my hero and I thought the world of her and I had disappointed her. At the end of the day she called me into the hallway and said, "I don't like what you did, but I still like you."

Has stuck with me ever since.

8. What do wish you had learned younger?

That to try something means trying - it does not mean having to do it perfectly. That running doesn't mean sprinting the whole distance. That most people are happy to help if you ask them but if you don't ask they won't ever know you need them.

9. What do you wish you could do but can't?

Travel extensively without worrying about how to pay for everything.

10. How would your friends describe your personality?

I'm still debating this one.
