Greetings, all. Um, you are awake, right? We're burning daylight!

My shin & foot felt better, but not 100%. I think the orthotics adjustment will do the trick.

Millbot, where is everyone?

I went back and read the end of yesterday's thread. Too funny.

As for the Chinese Opium, TW, I could have used it last night. My tooth hurt so bad for about 2 hours that I couldn't sleep. I had an ice bag on my jaw for about an hour, took another amoxicillin, then, miraculously the pain went away. I woke up...no toothache. I so hope this lasts until Monday when I see the endodontist.

I'm going to take a rest day from running today. Tomorrow I'm planning on 7 miles...my longest run to date post-injury. I'll have to do 2 of my 3.5 mile loops since the kids will be home alone. (I can't leave them for that long). Tomorrow promises to be a gorgeous day - probably the last really nice one we're going to have until spring. (Sunny with a high of 70F, while the entire next week looks like highs in the 40's).

Have a good weekend, all. Good luck to Pro, Ilene and Patrick on your races this weekend. (Double GL to Patrick, with races both days).

Morning all. Where are we? We are out running of course. Millbot glad your foot is treating you well. Runin - (tooth) I always went and bought that gel for babies teeth and gums if I had to wait for a dentist's help. My tongue always went numb too but who could tell. Lab don't run too fast by those dry leaves; you might start a spark which would cause a fire like SoCal.

7 miles for me this morning with a 5K imbedded in it. No race report as it was relatively small. I set a new master's pr for myself in 18:36 taking 13 seconds off my '02 best time. Also now have the course record by 3 seconds over one of my friendly competitors. I'm very pleased with my time as I have been logging a lot of miles and very little speed work. I'm thinking about concentrating on the 5 and 10K next spring and see if I can go sub 18 and 38.

Now I have to go winterize and water the yard.

good runs and whatever the day brings to ya.
Hi all. A cool and windy morning here. I did a 1-hour kick ass yoga class and then 30 mins on the elliptical on a moderately low level (4 out of 10). Tomorrow will be walk/jog for about 75 mins I think, depending on how it feels as I go along.

Have a great day and good luck to all participating in races.

3.1 miles on the bikepath today - 11:47 avg/min mile in 36:31 mile 1 - 11:35 ; mile 2 -12:04; mile 3- 11:47 plus a little more at a faster pace. It was cold (well for me), at about 1.5 miles I had to slow way down or it was gonna be walking & I wasn't gonna walk Which it stayed that way for about a mile & then I ran faster.... finally found a stride & was running in the 10's for that last mile. Don't know.. did I start too fast, did my bronchials finally warm up, or did I get through a bronchial spasm.. have no clue, but that last 1/2 mile was sure fun! its been awhile & I sure look forward to more of those moments

I think I've turned a corner though, my brain has gone from feeling like its a victory to run 3 miles straight to wanting to run the 5K next week under my PW & not create a new PW.. that's a good sign really, but I'd kinda like to have the victory attitude next Saturday...

excellent, ksrunr!!!

Sad about Ryan Shay -- wondering why...

On the other hand a Eugenian (OK, he's a transplant but currently living here), Dathan Ritzenhein, made the team...very happy for him!

I "ran" 2 hours, pokey slow, on the trails. 1st long run in 4 weeks... The mushrooms are up and the few people I met on the trails (5 total) were all grumpy or taciturn. Not sure why; gorgeous day!

My condolences to the family of Ryan Shay, what a tragedy. Kind of takes a little away from the awesome job of the other runners at the trials.

A big shout to ksrunr - congrats on the PR and the even more impressive masters race PR, what an accomplishment .

Save some of that run up for next Saturday Rinda, but I suspect you'll do better than you think.

Hopefully the orthodics adjustment will do the trick millbot

Hope the teeth hold out until Monday Marie, if I had access to any opium, you'd never see or hear from me .

12.5 foggy miles with the Tamster this morning over in the "good" part of town, at an easy conversational 9:45 minute pace. We incorporated the millbot fast finish™ by doing the last mile, uphill, maybe a 2-3% grade, at an 8:30 or thereabouts pace. Now the Tamster's gone off to run another 2 miles, there's no stopping her .

So, so sad.......and why?

Great race and PR Ksrunr!! Congrats!

No run for me today. I spent the cold, wet day working the finish line at our state middle school XC championships. Lots of heart out there in those young kids! Terrible conditions and every one finished!

14 easy peasy km at Elk Lake in the mist and drizzle. Nothing much else to report, which is good. Iced and Ibu-ed the heel last night and ran without pain today. Will repeat the ice routine this afternoon and again before bed.

Thanks to emcee for the advice.

Wow, terrible news about Ryan Shay.

Millbot, glad to hear your shin & foot are feeling better.
Marie, hope the tooth behaves. Sounded like a dreadful night, darnit.
Mustang, good news about your Achilles;I'm happy to hear you ran pain-free.
Ksrunr! NICE Master's PR!
Johnny, that Tamster is really on a roll. I think you have been a good influence on her.

MrC and I were joined by 3 other friends for a run this morning. The men went about 7 miles and then stopped which ended up being the one fellow's longest run to-date. We girls con't on for another 3 giving us a tad over 10 miles. We all had a great time and the men had a delicious breakfast ready for us when we got home. What a nice morning that was.

Company coming for dinner tonight so I need to get moving...

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

ksrunr, that is fantastic! Congratulations on the PR and course record. Wow. And almost no speedwork? I must know more about that, please.

gym today. Core work is what's keeping me sane. I worked those guys hard today.

I have two new pairs of shoes sitting in their boxes waiting for me. I catch myself walking by, taking the lid off, and inhaling the new shoe aroma. So hopelessly hooked.
