What do you put for your expected marathon finish time?

Your "Best Case Scenario"?

Something else?

i would put what your goal time is if you have one, that way if there are corrals, you get put in the right one.
Oh, yeah, I put my goal time regardless of corrals. I believe in writing it down! I was just curious about what others did and any reasons behind that.
Yep - Goal Time is good. Can't really think what else I would write down. Only wish I could actually run that time

These kinda make me laugh - some races assign corrals based on it and a race like Disney you get preferred seeding if you're faster than 4 hours. I usually put down my goal time though.
I usually put down 2:16...it seems to get me a nice spot up close to the skinny guys from Africa.

Most of the races do nothing with these things. Put down your goal time or a bit faster. They won't give you a test to see if you can do it.

...well except for Boston of course.
I put down the time I believe I will run, best to my knowledge
I put a slightly conservative time. If that means I start off a little slow, so be it.

I tend to pass people around me in the last 8 miles anyway.
I usually put down somewhere between 4 hours to 4:30 depending how far out from the race date I am. The further out the more optimistic I seem to be.
I put most likely time. They don't have corrals so I figured it would make it easier for them to call out my name and make me really happy.
