Good morning guys,

Happy Birthday Roy. Enjoy your new Garmin, you are going to ove it.

I got up to run but decided to take a rest today. With only 9 days to go before my marathon, rest is probably just as important as running at this point.

Good runs to everyone today.

Happy 50th Roy! Welcome to the club of old guys ...

14 miles this morning with an easy progression. 2:12 total, average HR 142.

Splits were 10:19 min/mile pace to warm up then 9:44, 9:48, 9:45, 9:42, 9:35, 9:34, 9:22, 9:22, 9:13, 9:11, 8:56, 8:43, and a cool down mile at 9:01. I thought I was moving a little better than that on the inward half, but I'll take it.

14 miles before work is about the most I can handle. Much more and I'd have to start coming in late!

I'm off to Colorado tomorrow morning for a week of skiing and snow play, so I'll be a little quiet on the Board. I'm going to try to get some miles in but many will likely be on the TM. Snow, ice, cold temps, 9600 foot elevation and mountains ought to kick my behind pretty good I expect.

Good Morning Kicksters!

Good plan, Peter. And Happy Birthday, Roy! And who you calling old, Bill? I want careful documentation of all these alleged X-training points next week young man...

Well this 51 year youngin managed a delightful 10 miles on a somewhat hilly course this morning. (That's 40 pts for Team I, if you're keeping score.) 1:23:56, 8:24 pace overall with a nice progression after the hill work down to 8:05 at the end. Now for the race to work.

Enjoy your good health everybody!

Welcome to your 2nd half-century, Roy! Now you've separated from all those kids in the forum here.

Did the 2.1-mile loop this morning in breezy 20F temps at an easy 11:00 pace. Started out really well, then had some pain off and on, but no lasting soreness when I stopped. But a definite improvement (or at least that's what I'm telling myself!).

Happy Birthday Roy!!!

Today my running partner and I did our usual Thursday run - we have only missed about 4 times and never - until today - successfully rescheduled. Wonder how we will do next week with the time change?

The big 50 ! Congratulations and enjoy the new AG!
Dale... you might save gas running 30 miles round trip to work but I'll bet your food bill goes up

Feeling chipper this morning aside from the sore back/sides and hacking cold...
So went out for a comfortable GA effort. Ended up with 2.2 miles with Tory at 8:39 pace and then 6 mi solo at 7:46 pace and AHR was 159 at that pace which is just about perfect. My muscles are now recovered from Ragnar. Just gotta get rid of the back ache and cold. Is it coincidence that the last time I had a back ache (jan 07), I had a cold within 3 days? The back ache started the first day in AZ before any of the long van rides. Mystery.

Total 8.2 mi in 1:05:34 (8:00, AHR 157)

Have great runs!

Good Morning Kicksters!

Happy birthday Roy! Breger have fun on the slopes!

Today is going to be another nice day here, looks like highs in the 40's for the next week, might even hit 50. Since there is no rush to get out and run, I think I will wait until the sun is high in the sky, then blind some more drivers with my ultra white legs.

My dog roy is not going to be pleased since he won't get to run again today because of his sore foot, he is still limping a little but he might be able to go for a walk on the leash tommorow.

Good runs All, Larry

I wanna be like Roy, so I'm heading out in about an hour to run 8 miles also. Only, I'm running with my friend Amy and her dog Caleb. No woody's here .

Good morning to all the masters and a very happy birthday to Roy! Happy to have you join the 50+ club!

This morning was a good workout for me. 1 mile walk (w/u & c/d) and 3 miles running at a slow, even pace. Then 30 minutes of weights and 15 minutes of stretching. Now I'm rewarding myself with a great cuppa Dunkin Donuts coffee.

Her in NY, we're supposed to get heavy rain, residual flooding, and wild winds starting this evening and continuing all through tomorrow. But tomorrow is my yoga day so I'm not too upset.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Bill, have a great time skiing -- looking forward to your VRAA points for Team E! Speaking of VRAA, why can't it start on a Saturday? I was going to rest today but now I feel compelled to do a little something for the team. I have a massage scheduled for later this morning and hoping that'll help with some minor low back and glute pain I have developed.

Thanks to Dtoce for expounding a little more on his big double run yesterday. After my first ever 15 miler being rather miserable, I'm still in awe that you did a double plus on top of a full day of work. Maybe I need to try a little Red Bull too! Tammy is right -- no more complaining about work getting in the way of running for the rest of us. Way to blow our excuses right out of the water, Doc D.

Perch, I'm betting your back pain is related to your illness. Hope it passes soon.
