I would be able to say I was down 6-8, but I had spaghetti with meatballs for dinner last night and as a result instead of being down 1lb, I was 4lbs heavier this morning than I was yesterday. To make matters worse, on Friday morning I was down to 286.

The good news is that results in my running are becoming quite apparent - last week I had a treadmill 3-mile PR (24:51), plus a 57:58 ascent of bear mountain - that's 4.1 miles with 1100' of gain. Ran 30 miles total M-S.

3 miles in 24:51. I'm the fasted 290lb guy around. :)

Week -1

Total +10

Lost another pound. Finally heading in the right direction. Hit 45 mile for the week, but that is because I put off last sunday's long run until last monday so I have two long runs in this week's total. I finally got to run in some good weather. The two half marathons were in 1:53 and 1:51, and I got in a 48 minute 10k. These times put me two months ahead of last year. The tough miles in the dreary winter seemed to have done some good. If I can just keep up the progress and get my diet under control.

Steve - that is an impressive time for a 290 pounder. You should find an open track and go for a measured 5k time trial.

Good luck everybody.

Had some really funky issues Sunday - Was to run a really long run on TM ... @ 9.5 miles I got vertigo and really dizzy - Stopped to walk as I was about to go down. Recovered enough to try running again - Same thing. After that I had a little tighness in chest - Like you feel with anxiety - Went to Doc Monday. Some test - Some blood work - all he found was I have low iron ... waiting for a few more blood tests.

Doc gave me permission to run - So I did a 20 miler last night outside. Part of the course was 3 miles through pretty deep snow - People had hiked a lot through, so either ankle twisting beaten down path or 12+ inch snow pack - Great fun ... today I can hardly walk as my angry achillies is not speaking to me at all.

Not sure if I can run today, so I will really have to watch what I eat.

I've had this happen a few times. It goes away when I stop running. I assume it is related to low blood glucose. Timing or content of the last meal was wrong.

Flounder - thanks for the link! I'm definitely going to try to get to that!

At 289lbs I can already win the 250-299lb weight class - last year the winner came in at 39:00 (8:40 pace).. I can totally beat that.

Imagine how easy it would be if I lost another 30-40lbs!
