I have never had a chance to use the word Redux. I think I have used it correctly in this title.

Anyway,

Well I got smacked in the face, figuratively the last couple of days.

When I finally got my new job last month, I told myself I would run the Jacksonville Marathon since I knew I had time to get in shape for it. Soooo earlier this week, I went looking back to see when I last ran it, 2007.

My last race over 15 miles was Spring 2008.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I finally went digging through my old running logs and took a look at what kind of mileage I was doing as I got ready for my December marathons in the past. F_ck. I had sort of forgotten how much mileage is needed to complete one. I need to sit down this weekend and get those old number transferred to my current log to help keep me on track.

I am sure I can get the miles in etc but wow. I feel like such a freaking Newbie again!

I am not sure if I can call this a vent or just a random thought but thanks for reading!

FB ... I am doing less volume doing ultras than I did training for my first marathon ... which is still my PR performance ...

that said ... I've kicked it pretty well in the ultra world and still pulled out marathons within a couple minutes of my PR that came from a much more stringent workout regimen (milage and paces)

just do it ... don't try to beat your past self or do the same training ... do what works in your life NOW and do it the best you can ...

... and ... HAVE FUN!!!

Thanks Sporti,

I do know i need to get a certain amount of mileage in to get my realistic goals that would mean I have having fun at the same time which at the moment is 4 hours. I had honestly forgotten how much you have to run to get ready. as I get going again and my body gets used to it, the weeks will get easier.

I am looking forward to it and if I can learn to eat healthy again, I am sure things will go great!
