Well I did my best...HJ set the bar pretty dam high yesterday

1.Why do you run? I started running 6 years ago because I just had my daughter and felt that the whole gym thing was just going to be too much with 2 kids. I had always been very active with biking, hiking and aerobics…but time seemed to disappear after the birth of my daughter…so I thought about running…cause I could do it early in the morning straight from my doorstep. When I started my family laughed in my face...because I was NOT a morning person. Well that is all it took for me to need to prove them wrong and here I am 6 years later. Each time I presented them with a new challenge …they thought I was crazy…again just fueling my determination Running makes me feel strong and fit and it allows me to think through issues. I come home after a run and I am ready to tackle my day. I cannot imagine my life without my running. In fact a few weeks ago ..just before my last HM..someone told me to be careful not to injure myself because it would be less painful to light me on fire than to watch me not be able to run.LOL When my daughter plays “house” and she is the mommy...she always “goes out for her run”.
I define myself to a certain extent as a runner…I am a runner…I run…I love to run… I am extremely passionate about it

2.WHAT IS YOU GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT?

My kids...hands down…they are my my greatest accomplishment

3.WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO/THEME SONG?

Motto: I will never give up…I will never surrender

Theme song: Firewoman by The Cult..I play it before every race and often at 4 am if you look down the street where I am running you will see me “shake it” along the yellow line

4. I am totally going to download "Firewoman" for my mp3 player.

Thanks for sharing a little of yourself with us. Your passion and positive energy come through in your posts, and now we know a little more where you get them from.

I like how you incorporate the bandanna into your runs for your mom and make it even more meaningful. Is the cause (breast cancer) also why you wear pink?

Well I have always loved pink..this being said...the Montreal chapter of the Breast Cancer Foundation took root in the years that my mother was first hit with the disease and she was very involved in it taking root and getting it off the ground. Now at the time she told that PINK was going to be the theme colour because of me...because I loved pink so much and it was the colour of beautiful princesses...OBVIOUSLY...that was not true LOL but at the time I believed it. So it is all mixed up..the reason for the pink. I cannot remember my life without pink or breast cancer...There has never been a time in my life where a woman in my family has not been afflicted by the disease. The women carry a mutated 13th chromosome of the BRAC2 gene. I was tested for this gene mutation last Novemeber and I am the first in 5 generations that they know of who does not carry it. So I am being followed to see if they can find something in me...that would help in research. My daughter will also be spared because she could not have inherited from me ...but I have a niece and 3 young cousins...their mother..45 was just diagnosed last year

My son has biked with me..on shorter runs...6 to 12 miles....My daughter cannot keep up yet and does not enjoy it...I really do try and run on my own or with a partner but when I am stuck...I stick her in the Champion jogger/biketrailer and him on the bike

That was really, really good.

I was a bit skeptical of this idea, but I now see from HJ's and your POTD posts, how cool this idea can be.

I feel like I know you a little better now.

I know what you mean. I am/was similarly put-off a bit by the idea of competing bios, but as in everything in life, there's an up side and a down.

Lovely inspiring story, Princess.
