Whomever is setting up the altar for communion service for the 8:30 and 10:30 Sunday services usually sets up everything on Saturday afternoon unless there is a funeral or other service going on. Anyway, I had forgotten it was my turn to set up the altar for Sunday's services. I remembered it Saturday night so got dressed and was in the church parking lot waiting for someone to show up at 7:15 Sunday morning.

I almost always go to the 8:30 service and I'm the type that goes diddly bopping in between 8:29 and 8:30 and the pastor pretty much knows each member's schedule and where we sit in the service. The pastor arrived about 7:40 and he had a perplexed look on his face when he saw me. I explained I was there to set up communion before anyone arrived and he gave me a laugh and said he was worried that maybe I had done something and was looking for some serious private counseling Sunday morning. Anyway I got everything done.

Not sure how I forgot all about the altar service on Saturday. I set it up usually once each month, but I'm going to set some alarms and a big note on my front door the next time it's my turn.
