<span style="font-family:Arial;">Yesterday’s run averaged 12min pace almost 11 miles. That was my ½ mary race pace last winter. Except I was Z2/3 this year and then it was 173 avg. So about 15 beats LOWER yesterday. Plus yesterday, I certainly wasn't toast. Could have easily gone longer. Given sufficient food/drink probably quite a bit longer... never run more than 3:30 but I could easily done that. After that 1/2 mary I was COOKED.</span><br><br><span style="font-family:Arial;">Just thought these were interesting. It's not the kind of thing you can noticed without the distance of time, but shows what a year of solid work can do to improve fitness.</span><br>

Great work. It always awesome to see progress. Keep up the good work! Have you been reading your Hadd (the low-HR guru)? I think I saved his whole thread once, I'll have to see if I can find it.

That's timely that you posted this, I have been messing with this book called "run less, run faster" and the interesting thing for me is they have me running my "long" runs at about 90 seconds per mile faster than my usual training pace for distance runs, I really have to work a bit and concentrate on the runs. I went out yesterday and ran 13 in the slush and just went back to plodding for the day, which was kind of nice. In either case, my heart rate is not super high, but I'm going to give this "no slogging" program a shot, which is sort of against my nature as a runner, I think you and I like to just enjoy the scenery.<br><br>
I'll report back in July if it worked, apparently your approach has borne some fruit so far, good job.
