Did you look at the participant list?

I will see you at Halfmax...ON THE COURSE. I'm in the race, dude. Did I qualify? Heck no! But my brother-in-law asked if I wanted to go to Zion with them this year, so I started nosing around. Turns out the Halfmax race has 200 "general entry" slots, so I grabbed on. (turns out they also have a sprint and oly race, but whatever, what's done is done) I'm also signed up for the local qualifier in July and can upgrade my Halfmax spot to a Big Boy ticket if I do well enough. But I don't really care either way. I'm racing (and drinking) with Thor in October, W00T!!!

Ya know. I thought he got it by his last post. Maybe not.

I think LRR needs to get over there and hit Ironboy upside the head with his yellow aerobottle poof.

Holy sheets! Wow. My heart just leapt. I didn't get it. But don't take offense, you can ask LRR how gullible I can be sometimes.

Dude, very, very cool. This gives me even more motivation to stay on after Ironman Lake Placid. I mean that. Because we will have an absolute blast with both of us celebrating our entry to Team USA, and if we don't get it, at least we'll have a great time with you guiding me and the Ironmate through an array of fine wines and maybe a mess of choice ales. Yeah, dog!

Seriously, I'm excited!!!

Me too. I was giddy when I signed up. Still am, can't wait! Honestly, my goal is to just finish with a smile (and no knee pain) as I watch you qualify for Team USA.

Either way, it won't matter. Because how cool will it be to watch YOU suffer through the ultimate pain that is the half Iron distance. And with your ability, it will hurt more, because you have it in you -- when your knees aren't talk'n to you and all things that might listen -- to pump out a hard bike and then try like might to hold onto the run. It's tough. And it will be fun to witness and slap high fives on either side of the divide.

Woohoo...

And yeah, now your references all make sense. We here in Boston have Manny Being Manny, as in Manny Ramirez being in his own world following his own rules and saying his own funny things... I was chalking it up to OhBannonMyBannon Being OhMyBannon.
