I will put it all out here...I've gained 6 lbs in 18 months. How discouraging!

It ain't muscle gain and it's gotta go! With an extra pound for good measure.

So, if you want to, join me. Please, let's NOT talk about food in this thread -- diet threads seem to deteriorate often into the delicious things we ate that ruined our perfect record. I just want to post results.

I need to lose 7 lbs. I'm at 122 today.
Goal for next Monday, March 24th: 121.5

Gulp... ok girl, we've talked about this...you and I... time to make it official, eh?
Ok, well... I'm down 3 since the beginning of the year, and seem to have stalled out. I put on 10 in less than 6 months last summer/fall... and would really like to not have to lie on my driver's license anymore.
Starting: 143
Goal: 135..... that's 8 lbs to go. (I so wanted to be down there for Boston if not for that relay...)

where do you hide that 6 lbs??!

I also have gained some weight (maybe 6-7 lbs?) since I started the M training and I know it's because when I'm extra hungry, I'm making the wrong choices. So, I'm all for some accountability on weight loss and making food choices. And no girl scout cookie talk!

Erika's down for 8 lbs by Boston, holy moly!
Tammy...if you want to join the weight loss club, ya gotta have measurable objectives (you forgot a goal date).

We can have overall weight loss goals and weekly goals. Naturally, there will be variation from the weekly goals.

I'll have to weigh myself at the gym tomorrow to get my starting weight (I don't own a scale). Then I'll know more specifically what I want to accomplish and a realistic time frame. I'm thinking whatever amount I want to lose, I would like to have that goal accomplished by marathon time.

HA! I said I would love to lose those 8 by Boston. I also know fully well that ain't gonna happen. Guess I should've put my plan in there... 1 lb a week would be lurvely since I'm so hungry when training. Heck, if I'm down 4 by Boston I'd be tickled....

Ok ladies (and maybe a few gent's) perhaps I'll join in with you. Tamster, I've gained a few pounds as well from marathon training, although I'm close to around 10 pounds lighter then when we ran Avenue of the Giants. I'd love to lose 8 pounds, I think that would be an awesome goal for myself. I would like to reach that goal by June 1st, which is my marathon date. Calender wise, that's 11 weeks away.

Starting weight: 145 pounds
Goal weight: 137 pounds
Goal date: June 1st.

All of you crack me up........ I'd be so happy if all I needed to lose was 5 or 10 lbs.

I have 25 lbs to lose just to get back to where I was a few years ago, and that's 25 lbs over what I should weigh.

Is this going to be open to guys too?...... I actually got serious about 2 weeks ago.... so far I've lost 4 lbs.... but I'm still over 200

Thanks guys & gals, but I know where it's at. bad grammar, so sue me!

Guys are welcome, SLO! After all, this is a macho, in-your-face, goals & objectives and no chit-chat thread. Welcome to Sherie, too! Don't forget a goal for next Monday.

Ok, goal for next Monday is to lose 1 pound, and weigh in at 144 pounds on Monday morning.

John... you're such a sweet talker! But alias... just as Econo may know where her few pounds are, those who are actually slower then I am know where my fat is hiding. Lucky for me, not too many are slower then I am.

SloJim, welcome to the group. Next time we see each other at a race (Palos Verdes perhaps) we can see our progress.

I think that's the politically correct way of saying "we can check each other out"

john - your eyes must be going bad. Unfortunately, I had the misfortune of running on a TM this weekend that was right next to a mirror. I would glance over once in awhile and was horrified at the 'midsectionmovement'.

Oh isn't that the worst? My treadmill is facing a big window, and when it's dark outside all I can see is my reflection, bouncing along...

[dAAve, thanks, sweetie, but I've got a closet full of jeans I haven't fit into since last summer! DH likes the "new me" but I sure don't... ]

The Boss (or something like that) is back.

I'm trying to remember where I read that it is not recommended that runners "diet" unless they're in base building phase of marathon training. 'Course, you don't want to gain weight either (not an easy thing when you're ravenous running all those miles). You're stressing the bod enough in the last 4-6 weeks leading to the marathon, so easy does it!

As someone who is A: a straight woman and Bverweight you can take this with those things in mind.

I have seen recent pictures of Econo and Evanflein.
Neither of you should be too concerned with losing weight. So your jeans don't fit. Get new ones. Curves are good. Concentrate instead on eating healthy stuff to fuel your runs.
