So one of the boybarians and I head off to our Forest Wardens meeting last night. The older kids are starting a multi-week project to cut and carve their own canoe paddles.

At the end of the meeting, one of the other parents comes up to me with a rough-cut board and says "I'll finish cutting that one for Nicolas this weekend, so that he can have something to work on when he gets better."

Somehow that got me all misty-eyed.

How is the boybarian doing? Still sending positive thoughts and prayers.

That's what it's all about, Grizzly. Lovely.

I forgot about this until now:
This last Sunday was Palm Sunday and all the parishioners were handed a piece of palm leaf to commemorate when Jesus entered Jerusalem.

Anyway, I was sitting with the second grade Sunday school kids that I help herd around. I mostly help this little gal named Lizzie who is mentally challenged. She's an absolute delight, but a handful.

One of the nice traditions we have is to shape the palm leaf into a cross. Lizzie and I couldn't figure it out. One of her classmates, Brett, noticed this and gave her his cross.

I started crying right there.
