Would it be a good idea to have a permanent link to the home page indicating the newest featured story? From what I've read from other members, they all seem to have short cuts to the forums on their desk tops therefore have no reason to click on the home page. If there was a permanent link at the top of the forum to the front page we would have more traffic there.<br><br>
Thoughts?

Actually, the logo takes you to the front page. In the next couple of months, we'll be removing the login option from the forum which will require everyone to go to the front page to access the running log, forum, or any other feature we add.<br><br>
I'm trying to get people to the front page - I've posted an announcement; but I don't think too many people read the announcement posts.<br><br><br>
In the interim, the best we can do is to keep reminding people to get in the habit of going there.<br><br><br>
Keep writing your articles - they're great and I really appreciate it!<br><br><br>

So, I did a quick search and found a way to put a message on scroll.. do you think it's too much?<br><br>
Might remind people....<br><br>
If it gets to be too much, I can turn it off

It may drive people nuts, but you can easily just scroll down a bit then you dont see it!<br><br>
I vote to keep it, and maybe change it when you get a new story, to mention something about new additions etc.<br><br>

I'm waiting for the "Drink Your Ovaltine" plug behind the banner. <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif"> I thought it would be a little less subtle to have a sticky thread at the top of each forum for the members to see that there is a new story to read. I don't think it would be crass to have something low key like that and it would serve it's purpose.
