I am going to turn on all the lights in the house including the outdoor floodlights, run the dryer, turn on the dishwasher, get on the treadmill, bake a ham and warm up the SUV.

I have left them off all day today to compensate for having them on tonight. Plus, I'll turn them off when I go to bed later.

I'm actually having folks over tonight, so the lights will be on from 8-9, but I may turn off a handful of computers.

Well, I wasn't home from 8-9 so all of my lights, etc were off!

If I had been home, though, I wouldn't have done it to be honest. I am as green as I can (reasonably afford to) be, but sitting in a dark apartment by myself for an hour is a little much.

Why are the lights supposed to be off? Is this like one of those chain emails that are like no one buy gas from such and such company on this day, those always seem to work so well?
