Yo, Pep, I don't think they're gonna play this on the radio
And why not? Everybody has socks....

So what socks do you have that you love?

I just bought a pair since they were on sale at www.campmor.com and I like them. They are Wrightsock double-layer coolmesh quarter socks. And they came in grey, and in women's small, so they aren't too big, like most socks are. No bunching up! Very comfortable.

I want to buy some Injinji socks, but I haven't been able to bring myself to spend that much on a pair of socks yet.

Tell me about your socks.

I have the same socks, they were given away at a trail race. They're awesome for trail running. My feet stayed warm even though they were soaking wet.

All my socks are worn out. Now that I am starting to actually run again, I probably need some new ones. Maybe I will give these a shot when the time comes that I am actually running more than 30 min at a time!

I've been having a great time in Wrightsocks with Smartwool over them lately. I had a problem with my first pair of Wright Socks, and they comp'd me 4 replacement pairs (via Fed EX). Great customer service!!!

For my last muddy trail race I used a pair of injinjis with a pair of sealskinz over them. The result worked pretty well, although some moisture did make it through, particularly when I went through knee deep mud/slush/water puddles.

But fifty bucks worth of socks on my feet? It seemed a little excessive.

I'm a fan of Wrightsocks. After a reccomend from the local shoe guy, I've been wearing them for several years now. Rare is the blister. Love 'em.

With trail shoes, I also use Damn Tough. (I couldn't find a photo.)

I like Wright Socks in the Summer, SmartWool in the winter. Ahhh. I LOVE SmartWool. I keep buying more, I'm going to go broke buying good socks.

I recently splurged on a Smartwool midweight jersey. . .talk about comfort!! If I had the $$ I would buy enough to wear every day. Wicks great, keeps you warm, and doesn't stink!!!!

Hm. I generally wear Smartwools but some of those work better than others. I have one pair of Wright socks that actually give me blisters, on short runs no less, and one pair that work fine, so I guess it just depends.

I've got a pair of the regular Injinji (based on Meri's recommendation) and I like 'em, although my toes aren't as long as the toes of the socks. I have to fiddle with the sock combo to get enough cushion for the ball of my foot though.

I'm thinking I may splurge on the Nuwool Injinji's. . .could be the best of both worlds. The cotton/lycra injinji's just don't wick well enough for me. Smartwools are by far the best wicking IMO.
I'm avoiding my Wrightsocks on road runs over 10 miles and ALL trail runs. At Umstead, I saw a lot of folks having problems with dirt buildup b/w the double layers, causing friction.

I have been noticing problems with my Wrightsocks in dry, dusty conditions. I will need an alternate sock plan.

wool injinji is cool, although I didn't know they made wool ones until meri mentioned it at Umstead.

Now that you mention it, I did get my blisters with the one pair of wright socks when I was running on a dirt road in dusty conditions. But it was also where the seam at the toe sits, so I figured it was from the seam. I might try that pair again. I haven't worn them except that one time.
