Pro - nice easy swim this morning.

Today is a day off for me as well I am in a time warp and will post yesterdays 9 mile run, split up by three. Three in the morning, three at lunch and three as transportation to a meeting after work. S-l-o-w-l-y though ... in my next life I want to be mc and run fast.

Mustang - so sorry to hear about Storm, what a beautiful pooch.

LaT, that's a great way to get some miles in. I did almost that many myself last night, 7.81, the longest run since coming off the injury and 5k of that speedwork!

Johnny, I know you're probably not even awake yet out there, but I thought about you this morning. I heard a Dead song on the radio. I remember seeing them here at the Zoo amphitheatre like it was yesterday. I went with two buddies, and it's funny to think about what's happened since then. One guy went to Hollywood, the other to Wall St. The second guy, Mark, ended up being my best man because he moved back here, and after a brief stint as a "Welcome Back Kotter" German teacher at our old school, is once again a banker here. I can just picture him in the boardroom, "Dude, you should have seen the Space Dancers over in those trees."

Happy Friday, masters!

Nicely swum, Pro.

Nice time-warpy mileage, La T. But I thought I was next in line to be mc.

No running for me today, since my achilles is grumpy. It doesn't hurt much, but I think it's asking for a day off. And ice and stuff.

Morning all. Got my long run done today. 18:25 moh at 8:00 avg on the nose. Wasn't an easy run today for some reason even though the time and hr was good. I'll chalk this one up to a mental victory and go on. Mini taper next week and the Corpus Christi 1/2 next Saturday morning.

Good morning to all. I got stuck in horrible, horrible traffic on the way to the gym so my workout was much shorter than I had planned. I did 10 mins warmup and then ran 2 miles. Because it was less than I had hoped (I had planned on 3 miles), I ran a little bit faster than I usually do. Then another 10 minutes c/d.

Tonight DH and I are going out to play billiards and I'm gonna whup his behind by wearing a very low cut top, tight jeans and my black high heeled boots. I know this is being slightly unfair, but I'm not a good player so I need to take advantage of his weaknesses. Tomorrow's my favorite yoga class, hooray! I shall be mellow all weekend.

Not at all unfair, Susan! That is standard billiards wear for the competitive woman.

5 crisp miles for me and T this morning at an 8:32 pace...

Didn't run at all in Corvallis, except 2 miles on the treadmill on Monday...Not familiar with the roads...I was going to ask some young girls I saw running if I could run with them, but they would prolly maced me and reported me to campus police...

The campus roads were also in terrible shape with lots of potholes and not very well lit...

Glad you're back running a little SS !!!

Hey Choovie, I just saw your post about the yoga pose from yesterday. Holy cow! How on earth do mere mortals DO that? I can't even do the one where your shins are resting on the forearms - I keep falling over on my noggin. My upper body strength is fairly non-existant, despite lots of plankage work.

BTW, I did almost 3 hours of shopping at the mall last night. Christmas presents are almost all purchased; just need to get some stocking stuffers. I feel great about getting all that done. One of the stocking stuffers will be a gift cert. for youngest son for an hour at the billiards place, so I can take care of that tonight prior to whooping DH's cute little butt.

Riley - I like your style on the one hand taking advantage of your dh.

Then your going to buy him some time at the same place with all these high heeled, tight panted, low cut top gals. I wish my mom would have gotten me that gift certificate. That deserves a banana.

The gift certificate will be for my youngest son (Patrick), who lives in Montreal. He needs no help -- he has been dating the most gorgeous women I've ever seen for a long time now; one more beautiful than the next. I don't know where he finds them all. I can't wait to see him again, as it's been about 5-6 months since the last time he was down here.

He's such a great kid. I miss him a lot. He's doing his first HM in the late spring up in Montreal. I might go up there to cheer him on! He's been working on his PhD in inorganic chemistry for the past couple of years, while he teaches grad students at McGill. Can you tell that I'm proud of him?

Susan, in my dreams, my French-Immersion kids will end up at McGill. Good on your boy.

Great 100s, Pro. Just tell dAAve that you swam 'em in a metric pool. That'll confound him and make him wonder whether your times measure up to his after all.

10 early-morning km for me today with 3x7 min @ MP (8:40 ish). The run felt really good. I have 1:40 on deck for tomorrow afternoon after I drop my mom at the airport. It's cool to see the long-ish runs starting to grow into some real distance.

Tonight: Amahl and the Night Visitors. I'm really looking forward to it.

If my shoulders weren't so sore today I would do some more XT just for Mill. {{{{MB's achilles}}}

Good morning to everyone. Susan, we need a picture of you all gussied up for your billiards night. Use it to your advantage! BTW, you should see someone do that side crow with either both legs straight out to the side or with one leg pointing to the ceiling -- most impressive.

Kind of a gray day in Montana. I'd never make it in a gloomy part of the country.

Nice running and swimming today, everyone. Resting counts, too, so I'm adding myself to that list. My ankle was hurting a little after yesterday's run, so I thought it better to give it a rest. I have no idea what's going on there, and hope it's just "one of those things" that goes away quickly.

Ilene, you're neither fat nor lazy...just wise. I hope your cat is well soon. I'm sure that will be a relief to both of you.

Riley, you're understandably proud of that son of yours.

I'm off to get some Christmas shopping done before I pick the kiddies up from school.

I'm going to try that crow pose after I'm finished with the ice.

lynden (maceless snork), nice to have you back. What was up in Corvallis?
Susan, keep up with the planks and add some push-ups if you want more upper body strength. I used to shoot stick a lot when I lived in the Big City, but not in an outfit like that! More unkempt Grunge Girl. (dreadhead grin)
Dirt, I think Labduck called the [monster truck echo voice] Fearful Forecast [/mtev] a "weathergasm."
La T and (((millbot))) want to run like mc; me, I'm just hoping for a few more passes -- uh, relay passes. Yeah, yeah. (ssuper toothy grin)

2.5 miles run/walk
40 minutes pool running

Cool sliver of a moon in the inky sky this morning. This was playing at the pool. Have a groovy Friday!

Day off today. Did some stretching and lower body strength exercises (without weights) and some core work. Rainy, yucky day. Since its my day off I may have to break down and write my Christmas cards. Tomorrow is supposed to be dry and cold. Sounds like a great day for a run.

Think it's about time I started posting amongst my own again. I managed to get myself adopted by those young things in the 30's club - lovely people, but when you start to lust after someone young enough to be your daughter, you realise you are just becoming a dirty old man -

So I thought I'd come over to the respectable Masters Club, and what do I read - Low cut tops and high heeled boots with tight jeans - Oh gawd, we're all as bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In between all my lustings, I managed a 6K run on the dreadmill, in 29:28, and in an hour I'm off on the boat to England (4 hour sailing), and a 10 Mile Race on Sunday - What fun.
