Time just flies by anymore - except when it's draaaaaggggging along waiting for the government to make headway on our financial affairs. Just when I'm going to take out a home improvement loan too!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I'll be out the door for 10 EZ pace miles this morning. Those faster miles on Wednesday stressed my lower legs a bit; so no hills or speed happenin' today.

Skipped my yoga workout last night and now this morning - best fit it in later today. My back will surely need it after I clear the bed to the right of the front step and relocate the rose and bedding plants from the left side. We've removed the railing from the front and sides of the porch (it's 14-foot square concrete aggregate pad about 18-inches off the ground) and are going to put in two 16-inch wide gray Trex steps down to the lawn. When faced with repainting that railing for the 3rd time so far, it just seemed like a great low-maintenance idea to just get rid of it!

MTA: I'm impressed by your 18-miler yesterday, Mike. Your trip to the Cape sounds like so much fun!

Hi TW - gotta pay attention to the signals - sometimes you never know the why of things - enjoy your trail run tomorrow.

Hi KS - I got a later start than I planned, but had a lovely 10 mile run, 10:40 avg pace until the last mile when I had an unplanned fast finish of 10:13 because of bees being more interested in me than the daisies bordering the route.

Wonder if Heme went for the "beer run" this morning?

Hi HappyFeat KS and TW

I'll kick us off this fine sunday morning to end July with a bang.

8 miles in 60:00

7:45 pace out, 7:15 pace in. Weather was fantastic. Felt even better when I hit a few shady stretches.

Off to the state fair to see if I can gain a few lbs. on something fried, dipped, battered, slathered, or grilled.

After working 75-80 hours a week and getting a few workouts in this month, I am the lightest I have been in about 30 years.

I'll cut my hours back now when I start going to some races. I may spend the rest of the year doing trail races if my feet and legs can withstand it.

Rip.... what TW said on the workload... yikes. Some trails should be the cure, but just make sure you keep your eyes on the ground!

Nuttin' wrong with slow, KS. Time on feet is good.

Hi HappyFeat! No beer on yesterday's run, but I saw the gang on the trail!

I'm resting today, but got in somewhere about 11.5 miles on the trails yesterday, with the Garmin cutting out on me with about a half mile or so to go. Finished this one off with a huge ice cappacino after! MY metatarsals felt good with the new shoes, but they lacked the lateral stability I'm used to with my Salomons. I think I'll play with the lacing a bit to see what I can tighten up, and save the Salomons for the rocky and rooty races coming up. DH and I spent the rest of the day outside yesterday, with dinner on the patio and a fire in the chiminea and dessert from the new Portuguese bakery down the street to cap off the day.

Nice run Heme. You are correct. I just kept thinking time on feet time on feet.

RIP is our resident stud

Rest day for me. DW and I took 3 kids from church to lunch today. We are going to make it a monthly activity for a while rotating thru about 30 kids.

Saturday on the seawall we passed a black woman talking to her self or whoever would listen. I mention that she is black only because of what she was saying. Something about Pepsi, ******, White ******, and Mexicans. Felt sorry for her. On the return trip she was still talking but about to get into her car and drive away! I had no idea she would be able to drive as crazy as she was acting. Last Saturday my running partnered witnessed a guy get out of his car parked in front of sea wall. All he had on was a t shirt. He walked over to the sea wall, strectched, bent over and stretched, went back to his car and put on his pants and shoes. He was not alone in his car. No try to erase those thoughts from your mind :)

Gobi should be back from vacation soon. Missing Liam and Babba
