So after my failed marathon attempt, subsequent injury and general laziness I've been having a hard time getting back into running.

I've rested and iced as the doctor ordered and put in a few runs here and there and was feeling physically good but mentally, just not in a running mood as of late.

I received an email that a 10k race, really close to my house was going on and I thought it might be a good way to jump start my running career again.

So I figured I'd play it by ear and if I felt like going, I would go.

Then the night before, my dealer called. He called to entice with me the sweet, sweet nectar that I crave, my kryptonite, my downfall.

All I could think about all day were those little pieces of heaven in a colorful box; I was consumed by the thought, I've waited so long for them, so, so long.

The end of work came, my phone rang, it was a text message from my pusher, "meet me at Wahoo's in Long Beach, 7 p.m. Bring small, unmarked bills and come alone."

I began shaking with joyus anticipation.

7 p.m. came, I staked out Wahoos, I saw the 'pusherman' skulking around the outside of the restaurant, shifty eyed and sly yet I notice there was nothing in his hand. I steeled my resolve and I confronted him.

We made nervous small-talk, ordered a meal and ate together; to throw off any authorities who may be watching. Then I was told to follow him to his house.

I knew this big, I was going to score a major stash, I was like a kid on Christmas morning, I couldn't drive fast enough. I followed him, we weaved in and out of traffic, doubled back, made a series of u-turns and finally cut through a park; we were sure we weren't followed.

I pulled up, parked inconspicuosly, and was motioned to come inside, the coast was clear.

I laid my money on the table, he counted it, smiling as he packaged the soul stealing substance that I crave.

When it was all over and done with, I had eight boxes, glorious boxes of Girl Scout crack, at a special, 'friend's only' price of four dollars a box. The first taste was free, after that...

Why arc918, why did you do that to me??

I got home, triple pad-locked the door, turned off all the lights and ripped into a box like a wild animal, salivating, shaking, sweating, I crammed sweet cookie after sweet cookie into my face; the glorious taste of the peanut butter, the ecstasy of chocolate, I could see the music.

The next morning, when I awoke, I couldn't remember what happened, I had crumbs all over my desk and face, a-la Tony Montana and an empty, red cardboard box hanging out of my arm. I started trembling.

The only cure I think of was to run the 10k.

I pulled the box from my arm, suited up and headed out the door, with a really, really bad tummy ache.

When the smoked cleared from the race, I still had a tummy ache but I also had one more thing...

....a new 10K PR.

Great job, antag!!

I am hoping for a 10k PR in a few weeks. Maybe I should try this Girl Scout cookies carbo-loading technique!

Well done!

Let me know if you need anymore "stuff." We're all sold out, but I can probably get my hands on some for $20 per box...

So it's not a 'classic-type' race report.

NICE!

I've been testing out my "fried-food fatass" load the night before a race and it's been working so far. Just in case you're looking for a new fix...
