I know some folks here have prodigious running bra collections...but I am not one of them. I have just a few favorites and they are all more than a year old and chafing me. I have a little red line around the rib cage in front and it is to the point where the skin feels aggravated during my post-run shower with warm water and soap products. The chafing occurs even on short runs. For now, I'll switch to bra that is less supportive, but doesn't chafe.

Should I get some body glide and use it regularly? Should I get a new bra? If I do get a new bra, how will I know it won't chafe?

I use aquaphor under bra line. One thing I tried to prevent chaffing w/HR monitor/bra was to get a cheapie bra from Rhona Shear off of HSN. They wick...

Are you wearing a HRM too?

When I first got preggers and my bras were tight, but still fit, putting a 2nd LONGER thin bra underneath prevented chaffing.

This is a good idea...my non-chafing bra is similar to this one. I'll try aquaphor too.

I'm wondering if my bras shrunk in the laundry over time and are tighter than they originally were.

I'm not wearing a HRM.

I wear the champion shiny seamless and don't have chafing issues

The other thing I do is after I put on assos (which I use for runs, too), I take my lubed up hands and run them around my bra line and sometimes the waist band line, depending on the bottoms I am wearing

I use bodyglide!!!! If I forget it, my bra lines burns me terribly!! BUT.....I recently bought a new sports bra, it fits much better than my old ones and I don't chafe at all. My other ones were too big, so they moved around alot. My new one is much snugger so it's doesn't rub up and down. I think the snugger the bra the better!!

I have that chafing line all the time. I religiously use Body glide but still get it. I can't use the HRM that much as that REALLY kills me.

I've been getting chaffing on the underside of the girls on my longer runs. I've had to stop wearing my HRM strap, but not sure it makes much difference. I've tried using barrier cream, but it doesn't help. Will have to find me some body glide.

Ella, I cut holes in the Rhonda Shear Bra to lace my HRM through it. solved all my HRM related chaffing. I wear a regular sports bra on top of that.

It might be time to go shopping as well since over time, this stuff slowly loses wicking capabilities. I just fought that battle with my favorite running shorts.

I only get bra chafing problems with longer distances but I use BodyGlide. For wicking, I didn't know that material loses that property with time ... but I do know never to add fabric softener with the wash. Haven't used fabric softener for ages now since there is always some workout clothes in the regular loads.

Guilty as charged!!! I use fabric softner all of the time. I could do a separate non-fabric softner load for my workout stuff.

Yeah, good idea ... somehow the fabric softener blocks up the fabric, therefore, no wicking action is possible. Washing instuctions on the cardboard label/tag when you buy your sports stuff always sell never to use fabric softener.

Maybe if your bra wicked better, you wouldn't get so much chafing?
