Nice pics yesterday Johnny. Sure would like to run in them there hills.

12.75 this morning at a reasonable pace. At 11.5 we went to the new wading pool with ocilating (SP) fountains., outdoor shower. Showered, walked thru wading pool, stood under the fountains, and then finished the run. Completely dry by the time we finished save the shoes which were still a bit damp.

Afterwards went to watch XC meet in the park near home and watched a couple races. I have no horses in the races anymore but still love to watch the kids run.

Go Rip

Hiya Happyfeat, Erika, Mike, FO, Johnny, Gobi, Heme, et al.

Hope Heme is not too debauched by now.

Hi TW. WTG, Rip. ks, I always thought it was "thar." About xc kids, I am running a trail race in 2 weeks with a friend who insists (rightly so) that we can't leave on the 5+-hour drive until after he watches his DD run in a high school xc race. She (a fresh-person) contributed to the scoring in the last meet and her team came in 2nd, ahead of several higher-ranked teams.

7 miles of cinder-like road for me today, in the rain (sorry again, ks).

Happy Saturday, Gang

That's my kind of water stop, KS - love it!

Runnin' in the rain FO - so many are so jealous!

Congratulations on a great race result, Rip!

HI TW!

After my week of EZ 5'ers, I ran my 10 mile rolling hills route today as a tempo run (unplanned) just because it felt good at the time.

No real problems during the run, although some muscles are complaining now as I sit here.

I plan on doing my usual distances this week, but keep the pace EZ and see how it goes.

Good 10'er, Happy Feat!

ks, it sounds promising, your recent runs. Get it checked out though.

Hi, Erika! I hope your 20 is going well this w/e.

I've been non-stop this w/e. Took Fri off, and ran a strong 17 miler (8:20 pace) that felt great. Then after a quick stretch and shower, I headed to the Deutsche Bank PGA tournament at TPC Boston with some business associates. Some beer was consumed. Then around 4:40 pm left there to go to Fenway and watched the Red Sox get totally shellacked by the Texas Rangers. More beer consumed. Then on Sat morning I played in a golf tournament at my club. My partner and I missed low gross score by one stroke, but we won low net! More beer was consumed. Now I'm heading out for a little 5 miler. It's time to return to the runner's life.

I hope everybody in Kickland is having a greta Labor Day w/e.

Happy long weekend, everyone. I labored today, as I did my longest run in about 6 months in simulated race conditions (i.e., a trail with hills). I went out too fast, as my running buddy was full of sproink what with the cool, windy, dry weather that came in yesterday with a cold front. He peeled off at mile 4. My slowest miles were 8 and 9, when I took a few walk breaks. When my HR would creep above about 143 bpm on a hill, I'd get the urge to walk. In the last mile, my HR averaged 146 (the "barn effect," I guess). I finished in 1:28:00 (8:48 m/M), faster than intended. That makes for a 29-mile week, another peak. Now for a 2-week taper before my Half.

Sounds like you're ready for your race FO, impressive hilly trail pace too.............nice beer drinkin Mike.....do you train for that??

As for me, lets say I'll be making an appt. with the podiatrist first thing Tuesday AM...can't seem to find the sweet spot for the pad, if it even exists...............this is frustrating as I've just in the past 2 weeks dropped a few heartbeats and several seconds from the same perceived effort. 11 miles....towel thrown in.

Hope its nothing serious Johnny. My feet are doing surprisingly well for a little while.

My legs felt better than expected this morning. Did an hour on a different kind of eliptical this morning and I could feel it in the calves when I got done.

Worked my way back to Ohio and stopped and did another hour on the same type of machine this afternoon.

Congrats Tom. Still waiting for the video. You better get those racing canes/crutches patented!

15.25 smoky miles this morning. 400 homes and 16,000 acres outside of Austin, TX are burned up. We finally get a N wind and guess what it blew in last night? All the smoke. Goal was alternating 9 min mile ez with 8 min mile moderate. Ran most at 7:45 and 8:45. Last two moderate miles were 7:15 and 6:44.

Hardly slept at all last night due to breathing or lack thereof. Had 3 really pretty good days and then last night not so good. But no problems on the run this morning and feel pretty good now. Lung function test Wed 9 a.m.; looking forward to getting some answers.

a couple of people have

suggested that ''patent''

........I remember reading ''HeavyHands'' by Leonard Schwartz

he actually suggested

doing the exercises

with stuff you already had around the house (the Merchandising Effort came later)

I figure

if people

have $15 for the crutches,

and a hacksaw

I can get them up out of the chair.........Still an Old Hippy I guess

Hi everyone 6 EZ miles for me this holiday Monday morning.

Happy Days, TW!!

I hope you get some answers soon KS - what a frustrating and worrisome situation for you.

The bathroom remodel project has begun - painting began yesterday, but only partially done due to lack of good lighting with the fixtures removed and lack of ventilation because the fan switchplate has been removed - both for painting which should be complete today. The ceiling patch job got some further attention today and will be ready for texturing some day soon. So the final room paint will probably be next weekend. After 4 trips to the paint store over the past 2 weeks, I think the cabinet color is finally the right shade of green - hope to find out today.

Good job sneaking a run in amongst all the remodlin HF

No cool air here today FO, glad you're gettin some though

4 miles in the woods....foot didn't hurt, get hot, or get numb........so it's either a) road shoes are shot b) I do better on dirt c) finally got the pad positioned correctly, d) only ran 4 miles......most likely some combination thereof. Still going to make a podiatrist appt. tomorrow AM though.

Tomorrow is Heme's birthday (if I can count)....so lets all pitch in and get her something nice.......preferably in red
