I suppose I could start the fitness thread too. I will be doing airport walking and then more walking once I hit SF. Probably nothing else of note.

I'm going to run at some point today and do lots of stretching. Thursday I did an awesome kickboxing class then yester an intense boot camp class. Last night I went to a kundalini yoga class and this morning I am soooooo sore from all 3! So I'm thinking later I will do a short run and then maybe a gentle yoga dvd or my stretching dvd....

Can I just say how psyched I am to be so sore and working my muscles all the time again! I missed all the pain, haha.

Well, on my longer runs, I run with my strap-on bottle. It's got a little zippered pouch, and by default I keep a couple bucks in there in case I need to stop somewhere and buy another bottle of Gatorade. So I come prepared.

Perfect running weather in GR! 53F. 6.6 easy miles that really felt easy despite how hilly where I ran was.

Just need to shower up and get some breakfast to settle in for a long day on the couch with some college football.

I did my first open water swim since the tri in June! Yesterday afternoon and a friend's house (she lives across the street from a lake). We both had a "oh shit!" moment, but got through the first half of the out and back. The back part was pretty good, once I just put my head down and swam. I got off track a couple of time, but overall OK.

Today is a run. But since it won't be un godly hot, I can go wherever I want!!!

YAY TOnya!!!

4 miles alone, then 1.5 with Gus for his first run since maybe April? It's been waaaaaaay too hot/humid to have him run, and it was finally in the 50s this morning. (I won't run him in over 60°. He just gets hot and stops. Plus he is getting old and I don't want him to have a heart attack.)

He was SO freaking happy. It was very funny. So 5.5 total for me, and then yoga. Except for the arthritis in my foot throbbing from the weather change (dropped 25° overnight) it was completely delicious.

I got my long run done yesterday - 17 hilly miles. Got 7.3 miles done today and now heading out hiking with the family on the North Shore. Hoping to get something longer done tomorrow.

Huh - I was the only volunteer that showed up today! So I manned 2 of the 4 planned water stops and the other two were scratched. One of the regular guys volunteered to scrap his run and man a stop but the volunteer coordinator said no, let's have this be a lesson for all these other folks who come and run every weekend and never offer to volunteer. They were thirsty runners by the time they got to me - I was pouring Gatorade and water as fast as I could!

Just ate a PB&J and I'm gonna head out for my own 6 mile run. wheee! Like Tonya said, it's SO nice to be able to run at about any point during the day and not have to get out there pre dawn to beat the heat!

Join me among the ranks of those with awesome weather! I slept in and went out for my run just after 10. It was 57 degrees at the start and 65 degrees at the finish. It's windy out there - but awesome running weather for a change. Put 20 miles in the books with the last mile the fastest mile (8:14)!

I did the Ali MacGraw: Yoga Mind & Body DVD tonight. I had done this yoga workout before but I still would have benefitted from watching it first. I had to stop and look a couple times to see what they were doing. But I think it's a pretty good one, I may have to buy a copy. I feel like buttah. mmmmmm namaste!

Up bright and early tomorrow for 12 miles!

nice 20 & strong finish RiL

nice weather here too although i had to wait until the hottest part of the day to get my 15 1/4 miles in yesterday. i felt like a lumbering piece of crap but managed to sneak in 8X18 second strides in at the end.

i dunno, take my man card away but i'm just not a college football fan. my alma mater has really strict rules on tailgating (no beers allowed after noon, only in this little parking lot, etc) and i saw some things while in school (from our bigger sports) that instilled a really bitter taste in my mouth. i'm guessing that's the root of my lack of interest. i'm all for beers & tailgating though.

thumbs up to you goon for volunteering.

5K for me this morning! However, my legs are pretty tight from my 20 miler yesterday. I will probably run with DS#1 to try help pace him rather than try to race it.

Ooooh - and I forgot to mention - it is currently 46 degrees! Woo hoo!
