Had a nice run with Ronbo this morning.

He told me that CC told him that he should be trying to kick his butt with his feet, and that his glutes ( butt muscles) should be sore after a run.

He and I both started out running with what I call the marathon shuffle when we first started distance running.

I noticed today, during his intervals that he was bringing his knees to a 90 degree angle and his heel was half way to his butt.

I recently started running faster than normal, and realized that my glutes were a bit sore after running and I was landing more on the ball of my foot than midfoot. When I started I was landing on my heels 3 years ago, but as I get faster, my foot strike gets closer to the front of my foot.

Did I get one of those Ah Ha revelation moments today talking with Ron, or did I mis understand.

If you ever need help with kicking your butt, just ask, I'm sure someone would always be willing to help

Now I know this is the correct way of running, by flexing your knee as much as possible while bringing the foot forward... But I can't concentrate on it for too long.

So Ronbo kicks butt...I am not surprised somehow.

I need to work on this big time. I am a chronic heel striker and it is causing me lots of problems. What drills specifically work on the foot strike.
