1. Why do you Run? There are many reasons. I started back after a 10 year absence from High School XC as a means of getting in shape and now I do it for the competition and for exercise means. Also a good stress reliever.

2. What is your greatest accomplishment? There are actually 3 of them. Getting married, Having my 2 children and graduating from college.

3. What is your motto/theme song? I don't really have one.

4. How do you deal with bad runs? I don't really ever have what I would call bad runs. Just days when I run slower than other days.

5. Do you reward yourself for good runs? Not really, although it does make the day that much better.

6. Who do you admire the most? I would have to say my wife. I had a job until march of last year that I had been at for 5 years and was sick and tired of it. It was time to for my wife to go back to work after having our daughter and I felt it was time for me to quit the job and stay home with my children until I get a job to help her stay home.

7. What is the greatest advice you ever received? About the time I had started dating my wife I got advice from Uncle and a guy at work. At the time my uncle was going through a divorce. The basic advice was to know what I was getting into and that you can't change a person unless they want to change.

8. What do you wish you would have learned younger? That having an internship while going to college is a necessary step in getting experience that will help get you a job after college. Also, I wish I would have stuck with running and not had a 10 year break.

9. What do you wish you could do but can't? Right now I would say beat my brother in a race. I only did so last year when he and another running took a wrong turn.

10. How would your friends describe your personality? If I could count my wife in this catergory it might be a whole lot different than what a friend would say. Anyway, I guess it would be passionate about things that I believe in.

11. What do you wear running? Clothing of course!! In the cold weather I wear tights, running pants, compression shirt, long sleeve tec shirt, a tec zip shirt, hat and gloves. Summer shirt, shorts, and shoes.

12. What has been your favorite race? I would say the Race that is a walk of 5 minutes or less away from my house. Not having to get up so early is a big plus.

13. Do you have a goal race now? The Salt Lake City 5k on the saturday before the Boston Marathon.

14. What makes you happy? My family and being able to do the things I enjoy.

15. Tell us one interesting thing about yourself? I have been wearing hearing aids since High School, but never really wore them full time until college.

16. Tell us one interesting thing about someone else here at kickrunners? Not much to say just that I have met lots of great people here and maybe one day will me someone from kickrunners at a race or something.

Wow, Kevin, I had no idea you were a stay at home mom! Your wife is a pretty dedicated lady; glad you appreciate her so much. I have to say--I know what that feels like. Phillip is working less than 10 hours a week and going back to school, so it really is something for you to help while your wife is "bringing home the bacon." Good for you for getting back into running, and hope your race in April turns out great!

A. freaking. men!! I wish I would have heard this advice a lot sooner in my life.
Hey, I'm a great cheerleader and I plan on coming to cheer for you for the marathon. I might even be able to come for the 5k. I think my sister is running it.

It's always great to learn a little more about everyone. It sounds like you and your wife have a great relationship! Has your oldest child started running in daddie's footsteps yet? My 4 year old has. He loves racing me across the yard.

great post!

SInce you wear hearing aids...are you fearful of someone/thing coming up on you from behind? I rely a lot on my ears when I run...just curious.

Joggernut-- Since it is cold outside we run after each other in the house. In th summer time we race each other up and down the driveway. So who knows whate he will do when he gets older.
