of the new CR.
I think I may be staying here.
The only familiar item is the homepage. After logging in, it's all different.
Plus they gave me a new email and username because mine was already taken. No kidding - that wouldn't have been me by chance?

I also poped in to CR, and can't figure it out. I can't find my training log - or do I have to register all over again? It says all my previous stuff has been saved, but I can't see how to get to it. Also can't find the forums. This is better??

No, I'm sure there are many folks with "anachrotech" as a username....very common.

I stopped in also. You're right it's different after the home page. You have to transfer your running log over, and apparently that takes a bit of time. I did find the Boomer daily after awhile and Tall had started it off.

ETA...This place feels more comfortable...at least for now...and there's pie!

Jay - if I log in with my active login, I can't find anything. If I login with the new username a password they gave me(because mine was taken, by me no less), I am directed to the new coolrunning forum. It's really not as nice, IMHO, as this site. In addition, my understanding is the logs have yet to be added. I do admit to being a creature of habit and don't take kindly to new things being thrust on me, but it's really @ss.

My login finally worked...but it has my username as "rtravers046". Whaaa? I'm not 46 years old (yet), and I have no idea from where the "046" is derived. Odd.

I also can't find the Coolrunning Boomers and Beyond forum now...I can just get to the generic Active.com forums? I thought I could get there earlier today, but not now. Perhaps just a glitch? Annoying nonetheless...

One thing to watch out for is if you had a browser shortcut directly to the old forum. That will no longer work and you'll just get the out-of-service page. You have to start at the top of CoolRunning and drill down to the forum, then make a new shortcut.

Ah, okay, I think I got it now. I'm loving being on a vBulletin powered board over here...I'm so familiar with the interface. Several of my parenting boards are run on the same software, so it's all homey to me. I'll have to get used to the interface over there...

I too am lost on the new site...never found Boomers daily. I do not like having to search around for everything! Aren't we all such creatures of habit??? Ugh! Kickrunners is definately easier for me to navigate.

I don't think the transition is quite finished yet. Although I for one am using the runningahead.com running log. I heard the Active one wants to charge to keep track of your shoe miles.

This is the front end page of all the former coolrunning forums:
http://community.active.com/community/coolrunning

They also changed my username - not sure how many naphtali's were on the site except for me. I'm now naphtali047. Maybe I signed up for 47 races through active and thats how I became naphtali047.

I am so unimpressed and confused at first glance.

Guess what?

I "transferred" my CR Running log to activetrainer according to their instructions. Entries transferred but not even close to the right dates. So now I have lost all my data and it is scrambled beyond use.

Glad I made HTML copies of each CR log page and the .crv backup.

Totally PO'd I'm staying here.

I'm not the brightest guy in the world, but this seems--at a minimum--confusing.

My mailbox had 4 different sets of instructions on how to log in (different "temporary login email addresses;" new "member names" which are now "display names" etc)

I've now spent a good half hour trying to log in with no luck.

Anybody want to let me in on the secret password...or whatever trick got you in?

I logged in with my email address and my old CR password. At least I think I did. It wasn't obvious that I was logged in.

I haven't tried logging in but found myself leaning to the left to read the posts that start about mid-page and continue to the right side of the page. Balancing act.

Hmmm...my instructions say to NOT use my email because it is shared with another user. Instead, they've assigned me a temporary log-in e-mail--3 different ones, actually--which I tried to use but failed.
------
Okay, to clarify:
my instructions also say, "Your Username is now your temporary login email address, [email protected]." (I've replaced numbers with XXX's here.) I use this with my old password and I get the "logging into Active" transition screen, which then ends up with a "system error" message saying "specified user not found."

I think I'll just let them work out the kinks and try again another day.

Logging in was no problem becasue I had previously registered using the same e-mail and password as CR. I think that made the transition smooth. My question is how could they transfer my runs to the wrong dates?

same here - i took one look over there, wandered around, and then came here. it seems much homier - and easier to understand. i guess i need a new running log format; what are people using now? it seems like this board has a beta group testing a log...

anyway, it's nice to see all these familiar faces - it was getting lonely!

They are beta testing a log and it should be available hopefully soon. I'll just manually log my miles until then. We should also be able to import the backup of our coolrunning log (if you have it) - I least that's my understanding.
