I read about that last night on slowtwitch. There's a short account over there from the forth rider of the group who didn't get hit because he couldn't keep up with the others.<br><br>
I guess it just goes to show that anything can happen at anytime, so enjoy life to the fullest. My heart goes out to the families and friends of those killed.<br><br>

I saw this on the news last night and it really upset me. Apparently the wonman that was killed was an olympic hopeful triathlete and the guy was a competative cyclist. And then this morning there was another story that a bicyclist was hit (hit and run) and severly injured in San Francisco last night. It makes me feel very unsafe on my bike...

I'd like to see the deputy pay proper for this killing. Hey, deputies often demand respect, and this shows not all of them deserve it. He should rot in prison for the full term.

Here's a couple of locally-based stories on the two victims. I heard that the third victim is now been upgraded to stable, so hopefully they'll be able to recover okay<br><br>
The stories I've heard was that this deputy was near the beginning of his shift when he supposedly fell asleep at the wheel and crossed over and hit them?
