AK and I spent a lovely day visiting a co-worker who had a baby 3 wks ago. Poor girl - her labor lasted 63 hrs! We had a fab picninc in CP amd it was gorgepus out.<br><br>

<p>Morning, all.  I've been in slug mode for the second half of the week.  I need to kick myself into gear.  I have a softball game tonight, and since it hasn't rained in 3 days and looks sunny today, we may actually play it.  The co-ed team plays at 6 and the mens team plays at 9 so they're doing a cookout in between in the parking lot.  I may actually hang out for a bit which I don't normally do.</p>

<p>DS is doing 4 sports right now and DD is in 2.  DS is playing lacrosse, baseball, 3x3 hockey and Triple A hockey.  DD is playing lacrosse and just started riding lessons again.  Between that and DH's and my work committments and meetings, I am whooped. </p>

<p>I wish the word "No" came easier to me, but I don't even know what to give up.  I'd rather the kids be busy than playing XBox all day.</p>

<p>It should have been Friday 3 days ago.  I'm whooped.  It's the last day of classes here, and I'm ready for the students to be gone.  Summer is busy in its own right with orientations and such, but at least it is a change of pace.</p>

<p>Speaking of higher ed, <a href="http://chronicle.com/article/Its-Not-Your-Fault/127678/" target="_blank">this article</a> cropped up in my FB news feed by the Chronicle of Higher Education, with the comment "sometimes it really isn't your fault, junior professors".  I figure a few people around here would get it.</p>

<p>Weird:  ran in to one of FV's friends last night (whom I'd met at dinner just last week).  He was sympathetic and I think he thinks FV made a bad decision, but asked me for my card and said he and his girlfriend would keep an eye out for any other eligible friends.   Also, he invited me to hang out with them sometime...apparently I made a good impression.</p>

alas I wont be diving for the bouquet.  We have another function to go to right after the wedding dinner so we wont be around for to much of the dance.  I do want to see my other cousin's little girl hit the dance floor in her dress because all I heard about at Mothers Day lunch was how she gets to wear a pretty dress too and how she can't wait to go to the dance.  (She's a princess in training) </p>

<p>I'm excited that I actually get to go to the wedding, when the rest of my cousins got married I was living out in CO so I missed all but 1 wedding. <br>

<p>Hi all - yesterday night may have been my first good quality sleep night since the surgery, or at least borders on quality anyway.  My brain is <span style="text-decoration:underline;">almost</span> convinced that I'm not going to tweak my surgery area or get myself into some dull level of pain when I turn to either side.</p>
