morning

last night at Hyland was brutal

9 miles slow and crabbily. I just felt everything was off both mechanically and cardio wise. Every little hill kicked my butt and there still was a ton of mud out there. And I found a tick on me (not attached thank goonness) <-- deliberate misspelling cause she rocks

Good morning, ladies. RFTL, you really are a running machine. 12 miles early in the morning, plus your 200-whatever miles in May. Wow...

I did 7.4 hot, humid, hilly, and slow miles yesterday. So it'll be something easy today.

I just noticed that the number of Frequent Flier miles required to get me to Utah in September just dropped to the minimum! I don't know why, but I'll take it. So I put another set of flights on hold, and I'm pretty sure I'll snag these. Why not? It'll be nice to have my next one set in stone so I know what to shoot for...

I noticed another potential Fall marathon: Tucson on Dec 11. Moon did this one, right? Anyone else? Any comments on it?

6 easy miles this morning...although I rolled my ankle about two miles from home. It's the ankle that doesn't have a lot of support/ligaments left so I iced it down for 30 minutes and we'll see...may be sore may not. Always a roll of the dice.

Greetings, all.

RTFL - 12 before work?! 12?!?!?!?! Good gravy woman. You're freakin awesome!

KP - Eek. Hope the ankle ends up being cooperative with you for the remainder of the day.

Bob- yah for cheaper FF rates!

I have 4 or 5 on tap for this evening.

Question; has anyone here done the Kentucky Derby Marathon/HM event? ( http://www.derbyfestivalmarathon.com ) It's caught my eye for a possibility next year. They haven't updated their website from the 4/30/11 date, but next year's event should be around that time period, I'd think.

Awwww, thanks guys. I was really late for work though. I was thinking how nice it would be to be speedy like Jen so that runs like this wouldn't take so long!

I caught up on yesterday's run this morning. I'm finding these graphs very entertaining. I'd never have guessed that I'd have more trouble with the slower paces than the faster paces, and never dreamed I'd go faster than called for. I promise I will not post a graph every day!

~15 mi bike ride this afternoon where I almost got blown right off my bike. No joke. I was nervous a couple times. It was WINDY!

Then I headed to the lake for the open water swim session. I got about 3/4 mi done, and then jumped into a clinic that Coach J was hosting. I knew most of the stuff he was showing us (it was the basics of OWS, and I knew that, but was interested in listening anyway), but I did learn something new: taking a backstroke when rounding the markers for a more efficient rounding of the bubble. Huh. Cool stuf! (And the former Division I swimmers that were there to assist with the coaching were oh so yummy to watch. No.body.fat.All.rippled.muscle.Minimal.bathing.suits. Oh.my. )

Kath - from yesterday -- Oh, right! I remember the splinter situation, but didn't realize you were getting a chunk cut out. Hope you're all good asap!

Kp - how's the ankle?

Maria -- cute video!

Well, he cut a chunk out 5 weeks ago, but didn't go deep enough to get it all out. From the depth of the crater I can't imagine he didn't get it all this time.
