Oof. I just did my longest run since the 50k in April. It warmed up considerably during the run, and the last few miles were kinda tough. But I made it thru 19.5 miles. Dang, my average pace in July is WAY slower than my usual average pace. It's the heat, right?

today's weather was sheer misery and really not fit for running. Check out these conditions:

Temp: 77

humidity: 93%

dewpoint: 75

Me and Cile fell out the back of our training pack and went into run / walk mode. Manged just 11 miles. Came home and ran another mile with my 11yo DD because she wanted to get a training run in. She was in tears at the end of 1 mile. She's tough! She's gonna be a fighter when it comes to racing.

Anyway, it was Blech! I'm going to shower and take a nap before we go see Cars 2 after lunch.

Rehi all. I did NOT feel like getting up early this morning. Sinuses/Cold/insomnia... who knows what, but sleep was more important. Not knowing how far I'd actually make it today, with the late start I just hopped on the TM. Ended up with 10. All things considered, I'm happy with that.

Kudos to Bob and Tim for getting out there and dealing with the heat/humidity!

I hear you on the heat. It was 87 degrees out when I went for my run. I had planned to get up early to run, but the boys and I went to DH's show last night and did not get to bed until late. DH ran the first 5 with me and I suffered through the last 4 on my own. I was slow, but glad to get 9 miles in. Tomorrow, I will definitely be getting up early for my run.

Nice work, Kath. It is gross here too. It was already 70 at 6:00 am with 87% humidity. 80 degrees by the time I finished up. I put 12 miles in the books - first 10 with DH; last 2 on my own. My pace is still supah slow, but I am getting the miles in the books and that is all that matters to me now. 48 miles for me this week. Feels good to be back in training mode.
