I've been absent from the daily reports of late, but I had a great month of running so I thought I'd kick off the monthly review thread.

July was my biggest month ever and also included by my biggest week ever (82 miles). Here are the totals:

July: 306 miles
YTD: 1655.1 miles (95.1 miles ahead of last year)

Races:
Smokin' Chick's 5K - 19:58
Show-Me State Games 5K - 20:37

I'm currently planning on running three marathons in the next nine months:
Heart of America Marathon (September)
Columbus Marathon (October)
Boston Marathon (April)

So I'll keep piling on the miles while trying to stay healthy. Happy running!

Great job!

For me:

Running:

July was my biggest month ever: 214.75 miles
also included my biggest week ever: 66.2 miles

Cycling: 29.6 miles

Total mileage running YTD: 987.8, 86 miles ahead of 2006.

I'm training for the VT50 (KM, not miles) on 9/30/2007.

I credit the VRAA for the motivation and LHR for making the bump in mileage possible and comfortable.

July was a suckass month for me, with a stint on the DL with back issues, and a vacation.

56 miles (down from 100+ the prior two months, and my lowest total since last November). I did have 8 chiro visits, however.

YTD: 560 miles.

235 miles, best month of the year, and coming at a time when I am usually at my low point. I think VRAA had a little influence!

A new high in mileage for me this month. Had I not bonked on a few runs, I would have reached 300 miles, but alas, I didn't.

Summary Run Report
For the period: 07/01/2007 to 07/31/2007

Race Pace
Miles: 20.0 Time: 02:34:44.0 Avg: 00:07:44.2

Speed Work
Miles: 18.75 Time: 02:10:23.1 Avg: 00:06:57.2

Cooldown
Miles: 4.75 Time: 00:42:30.3 Avg: 00:08:56.9

Just A Run
Miles: 234.8 Time: 36:58:37.5 Avg: 00:09:26.9

Warmup
Miles: 6.75 Time: 00:57:33.5 Avg: 00:08:31.6

Grand Total
Miles: 285.05 Time: 43:23:48.4 Avg: 00:09:08.1

Races
Everything has been kindof mumbo jumbo'd this year - I need to get into a good flow of training for August and September.

Good running to all -

204.4 miles. I think I only missed one run of 6 miles. Best month of year. I don't think I ran even one mile in February, so I've come a long way.

EQ - When is your first tune up race? I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised when you run it.

Great month Notey!

My first "tune-up" race was supposed to be two weeks ago. I was away for the weekend, and couldn't find a race in the area of 8-15K, so I did a 9 mile run on a very hilly course as if I were running a race.

On that course, I was thrilled to come in with a time of something like 1:11:34. It was by far, the fastest time I've ever done for that course.

I am supposed to do a tune up race this weekend too, but will probably just do my home 10 mile loop at a fast pace. It's going to be too hot and humid to have a great race.

Great months everybody! And July is a tough month to get those miles in.

July: 254 (new high)
YTD: 1338

Races: 7/4 5k 16:39 (PR)
Coming up: some tune-up races for the Philly Distance Run (HM) on 9/16

Flounder: Nice PR. I have a hard time at 5m and 10k nailing paces since everything I train at is either slower or faster. Way to go!
