Slept in till 10am. Totally wiped out from the past week of returning from the vacation, the work travel and catching up with so many things from pre-HIM/pre-vacation days. First weekend day in a long time that I didn't have any specific wake up time or training plan. Probably another week of doing whatever-I-feel-like before getting serious about a marathon training. I am thinking to take a MTB to a farmer's market this morning to pick up some fresh produces.

Good luck racers! Scott is probably on the bike by now at Steelhead.

15 mile run early this morning with three others on the Nashua (New Hampshire) Rail Trail. Chatter was so consuming that the run was over before we all knew it. Yeah, one of THOSE runs. Great company. Solid pace, too. Maybe an avg of 7:30 for entire run. Maybe.

Have been MIA this past week due to travel! But I'm back :)

Started the morning with 6.65 miles in 60min, nice and relaxed. Swimming 1,000 yards later this afternoon, rain keeping it indoors today (was supposed to be OW. booo rain)

In between I will be tracking a friend of mine who is competiting in his first triathlon-- Steelhead 70.3. At least I convinced him to do SOMEthing before his first IM in Sept. He had signed up to do IM Wisconsin in Sept. and started training in January with no tri experience what so ever. I told him to at least give a half a tri first. Ahhh stubborn, driven men

Hppy Saturday, tri folks!

9 mile trail run with a new training partner. Felt like we were only coasting and ended up averaging 8:05's througout the run. Awesome having someone about my same pace to run with.

10 mile run at "stupid early in the morning" FIB

24 mile ride with the riding group.

The last two weeks, I've supplemented with salt stick capsules and have felt TONS better ... especially after the run/rides. Me thinks I might be on to something. The reverse bricks are great for the next day, too. I'm still pretty tired right now after a good 4 or 5 hours of exercise today, but (at least last week) the day after soreness was greatly reduced.

Now, to get a recovery run in on Sunday mornings for 2 or 3 miles and we'll be off to the races. I hope.

THEN.......

I finally picked a paint color.

Yes, color.

Yes, color in two different rooms.

According to a friend, that's just NOT DONE.

HMPF!

I feel so rebellious.........I"m putting what I want on the walls....

because:

Hobey....

apparently, color "isn't for walls, it's for accessories and bedding. Walls must be neutral."

Which, is fine if you're trying to sell a house, or if you're painting a rental unit.

BUT....I"m not leaving this place anytime soon, so I'm gonna just rebel, rebel, rebel.

Whatever! Our last house had red, yellow, and green rooms in addition to beadboard. It was only on the market for 8 days when we sold it. Neutral walls are for wimps. I can't wait for my sabbatical this winter when BD & I are finally going to something about our currently boring neutral walls.

Stitcher: The first thing I did when we bought our house after living in "eggshell white" walled rental units for years was rebel with color. We have 2 red rooms, a hunter green bathroom, and other rooms of various hues. Go for it! Paint is so much fun.

Me: 45 minutes of strength training. I'm into week 2 of Chalene Extreme and I'm loving it. (Thanks for mentioning it Julie!)

I love my "enabling" friends in cyber-land!!!

Tomorrow is priming day.

I realized this evening as I was appreciating my "calico patches" walls that soon will be gone.......

that due to the way my house is arranged, I can almost have a different apartment feel to the upstairs. You can't see the upstairs from the bottom of the stairs (180 deg turn in steps). So, I can also paint the hall way and bathroom and have that part of the house be totally different from the rest of the house.

AFter this, I go to work on my own bedroom!

Pretty tired throughout the day. During the summers I work at a summer camp for middle schoolers and we took them on a camping trip Thursday/Friday - like I said, I was exhausted today! Eventually got my act together, though, and ran an easy 8 miler with my brother. Finished up with dipping just under a 7:50/mi average.

35 mile ride @ 2hrs

FIB

2.2 "logan loop" in 22:25. HOLY SHIT. Ok, I just did that loop last week in 29:55 and it was the fastest since surgery (and granted, it was a high z2 run then so nothing spectacular). YOU SAW THAT RIGHT PEOPLE. I dropped 7:30 on a 2 point 2 freakin mile loop.

I was scheduled to get out and immediately ramp it to 155-163 HR and then hold for 10min, then back down to 150-160, then do whatever. I did 155avg (actually I was pegged at 163 at the end, it just took a while for HR to go up) and then 160 on the final 10 and then the final 2:25 I just went 167 (uphill). So I stayed within my workout paramters and I managed a massive PR. I don't think, at my best, I've done that loop under 24:30... and if so... once. 26 would have been haulin. There are 2 sizable hills.

I was frakin' thrilled. Ya see, that's about a 10min pace. my Ronbov2 5k pace is still 11:30or something. I SO could have held that pace for 5k.

Enjoy a restful weekend Yoshiko.
Happy anniversary Looki!
Nice ride Ron - pizza totally deserved.

I had a full day of travel - 3 diaper changes on the way to the airport (car hood makes a nice changing table), 4 hours in the airport waiting on a delayed flight. Finally on the way home and like Ron, ate lots of pizza (also much deserved).

Vacation is great but I'm loking forward to getting back to a "normal" schedule of living and exercising and eating!

Let's see... get up moderately early. Drove to a race. Swam one lap of the swim course (1/8 of a mile, verrrry short). Hung out. Swam one lap of the swim course sidestroke while chatting with a very nervous swimmer who basically dogpaddled the entire swim. Swam six more laps of the swim course. Hung out and helped slow people down for the bike dismount. Hung out with my husband AFTER HE FINISHED HIS RACE. Drove home, took a nap, had some dinner, quilted, went to bed.

short in distance but large in effort ride. Went a couple towns over on the bikes and did a couple of killer hills. Then found out there is a tougher one that would bring us to the top also. Next time. Great ride and a lot of fun.
