Fun: Taking a vacation day for a 4-day weekend!
 
Fun: Later today, a company is coming over to take measurements and offer a quote for a free-standing garage/carport. One of these thingies.....

Fun - my [local] cousin is coming over later to pick out glaze for a bonsai pot I made for him for a graduation gift. 
 
More fun on the weekend - another cousin [lives in VA] is in town with his new wife and baby, and my aunt is having a cookout for them Sunday. I haven't seen Matt in 10 years, so this should be fun. Just finished this sweater last night for the bebe:

Fun? It's almost the weekend! Yay! We don't have much planned either, so I will finally get some much needed weeding done in my yard and will have plenty of time to goof off with the boys.

morning. cute sweater Kath. Moe- you've been on my mind and I'm sorry I haven't reached out. I was at a conference in Vegas Sat-Wed and then yesterday M had her heart surgery. Hers was much less invasive than Gray's (it was done through a catheter and she was out of the hospital in 10 hrs versus the 12 days we spent with Gray). Still, I wonder just how I got so lucky to have 2 kids that required heart surgery. I was joking last night and said my daughter has a coil and my son has a patch. Gray is in PT and doing well and I work with him a couple times a day also- he can sit up on his own now (for a brief period of time) and is pretty pleased with himself.
Here's a pic of her post-surgery yesterday resting on daddy. Unfortunately I have to go in the office for a while today- that huge project I'm working goes live today- not the best week for me to have only been in the office Wed so far. My stress level is at an all time high as you can imagine.

Not fun: I made my best offer last night on the house and it was turned down...and I realized this morning I could have gone $5K higher and I still would have been totally comfortable. Blergh.
 
Fun: having supper tonight with one of my friends...we always have a great chat and then ice cream.

the issue is mostly the holiday weekend...my agent is going out of town (is on her way), we were rushing to get my offer in, and they said they would review it over the others they are expecting, contingent on me seeing it again today, but if they accepted it last night, I'd have to make the decision by end of day today. In other words...everything was rushed. It's a big decision to make in a rush right after the last couple weeks I've had.
 
They declined my offer...but will keep in touch apparently...my offer is still standing, just declined. However, I'm hoping to go see it again today, so I'll know if I even really want to pursue it or not.

Fun: going to have some artwork applied today and to talk to Jay about doing something in honor of my dad
Fun: if the rain holds off tonight we're having a friend over for dinner. Trying a new recipe on the grill.
Fun: Tour de France starts tomorrow!
 
KJ - hope she recovers quickly, and sounds like Grayson is really improving!
 
Maureen - not sure feeling "rushed" buying house would never be a good feeling!

Moe - sucks about the house - stressful times for sure. I don't think I ever felt so sick to my stomach as when I was going through that process. Rushing in these cases is never good

Live coverage of the stage each morning on Versus (or whatever the hell NBC/Comcast is calling it these days) and then taped coverage in prime time. I'm pissed that since I'm going to be in Cincy visiting my Dad next Wed-Sun I'll miss 5 days of coverage since he doesn't get that channel at the house and I have zero idea if he does at the nursing home.

Hi all - fun is Friday and warm weather. Hoping to get out and about - to where I don't know, but I'll figure it out.
 
(((((KJ and kids))))) Good to see you and hear an update, and here's hoping for some complete recoveries for the younguns.
 
Ah, darn Maureen - rushed typically isn't a good feeling with most anything. I hope you can throw in a bigger offer, or at least find something similar that you can put a bid on in the near future.
 
Brandy - size 8 is great! (Not that I would know personally (men's clothes sizes are relatively simple by comparison) but I'll take your word that that's pretty darn awesome.)
 
Hurrah for carports, cookouts and weddings, and may your day be a good one for sure

I got in touch with my agent just before she left for the Cape and we amended my offer, even though I'd said last night it was my best and final offer. I went up $5000, not a fortune...I just needed the night to sleep on it. I am not submitting the offer yet though, I'm sitting on it until I see it again this afternoon.
 
I'm hoping the older gentleman I'd been dating (who broke it off with me a month or so ago) will go with me today though...he's a developer and could give me advice. He said he'd come if he's not on his way to the Cape (everyone but me is going to the Cape this weekend, apparently.)

Fun today: Meeting my neighbor's new addition to the family (which will include yet another new addition any day now, when the foal is dropped.)
 
Two months ago, I would have laughed at anyone who said I'd be comfy enough to be in a pasture with a horse. Much less, doing this (see below) with one I'd met only a few minutes before. Vegas is extremely docile. Of course, it didn't hurt that our introduction took place over a couple of carrot sticks.....
