I am the pond runner :¬)

Today I actually thought about VRAA and whether I wish I had entered? Concluded no not really, sad but I do seem to have moved on from it.

Got up early to do a proper session on the bike today so 2 x 20 minutes at 40km effort was the plan, I worked hard but was a bit below the mark due to my ever improving legs being just a little short of power. Not stopping me from pushing on though so just accepting tired training. Hit the gym at lunchtime for a steady 5km followed by leg weights. My run legs are good, funny how weights and the bike are taking more time to come back. Off for a swim and a hill session with my squad later. Should be a good evening.

Hi Pond Runner/Gobi!

Was going to do a short-ish run this afternoon, but if I don't perk up soon, may just do some strength work in the gym. Am dragging my tail a bit from yesterday's blood donation.....got up off the couch after watching TV last night and wondered for about 30 seconds if gravity had just increased by 20%!

Sorry about the bad attitude by some over on VRAA Gobi, but I don't blame you.

X-trained in a foot of snow, with a shovel. The banks on either side of my driveway are now over my head.

It looks like I may have to do something I've never done before: do tomorrow's LR in the TM. Luckily it's a cut back week, so just 18. Have to get it done tomorrow though. Then I jump on a plane to FLA . I'm trading my shovel for golf clubs.

Dove, I forgot to mention when you did that ladder workout how impressed I was! Heme, good on you for donating blood! Mike, hope your iPod is loaded up.

Brooke is moving back in a few weeks! In the meantime, she's switching me to swimming instead of circuits twice a week to give my arm a break (possible tendinitis) and still work my upper body some. So today I went to the downtown Y, swam for 20 minutes, then got on my running stuff. It seemed to take forever so if I ever became a tri guy I would really have to practice transition. Ran 4 miles easy @9:56. My legs felt a little noodly at first. It's such a beautiful day that it's really hard to be inside right now.

hiya again

I have to share this as I am feeling rather positive.

4 days since the 50km and Thursday is Hill night, we have an half mile Kenyan loop which I have been struggling to run much under 2.40 but that all changed tonight.

I got loose with a 2.49 then ran 2.40/2.35/2.32/2.30. It has been two years since I managed numbers like these. Those last two reps at around 5 min mile pace look mighty fine in my training log.

Thanks Opie. I'm switching gears a bit this winter after joining a local team with a great coach. I'm focusing on shorter races for awhile to see if I can regain any of my long lost speed. There's a lot to be said for running a shorter local race and still getting home before my son wakes up. I'm still running long every other week, though, since I do have 2 ultras I want to do this year.

Rest day for me today, though I went to yoga class. Found myself aloft in this pose, have NO CLUE how that happened. Guess it was my pond-runner moment. :)

Fist bump gobi

Just another boring sunny day in Stumptown. I might have to mow this weekend.

4.5 miles, including 3x1/2 mi fartleks at 5k pace. The knee was mostly pain free.
