It will not be the same without you However, there is a very slight chance you *may* see me at a race at the end of October. Slight chance, see how the cards fall over the next couple months
I got an idea about this event. I have a 24 mile easy pace long run scheduled for that week in my marathon training program. I could do it on the towpath section. If someone wanted a pacer at a 9:00-9:30 min/mile pace, I'd happily do that and carry my own fuel, not use the aid stations. Or I'd just run on my own and enjoy meeting up with people before and after. This would be really motivating at that point in training.

But if doing a long run there that day would totally interfere with the race, I wouldn't want to be in the way.
"Tolerated" hmmm that is not exactly encouraging (understandably).

Is the towpath closed to the public during the event? Typically it can have bikes, horses, pedestrians, etc. on it.

I wouldn't want to interfere with the race in any way, but it would be such a good time and a great reward at the end of training.
I got that wrong, pacers are allowed in the general field, but they kinda frown on it. The heck with that though!! I don't know if they can technically close off those areas to other recreational runners. Only male top ten and female top five finishers can't have a pacer.

Screw it, not a big deal. Show up and have a great time!
