Personally I think it's a good idea. Just so long as we're paying per hits on his threads. Let him have some space, I wouldn't affect me at all!
I'm just curious, maybe they're leery after the experience at Cool Running. We're different, and I can almost guarantee that they wouldn't have the same reception.

I wish I knew how much they contributed $ wise to Dave, but I'd think that 100 bucks a month wouldn't be that much to ask, would it?
I'm hoping we get someone to step up to sponsor us. I'm good for a few months; but we'll need to get creative. I was kinda fearful that after the first 'volunteerism' of supporting the site financially subsided, we'd see that many 'talk' but few 'walk'....

We shall see what happens..
He's a jerkwad...I asked him a question once. He gave me a snotty answer.

I'm in his running book for women...would never join his running group though. He has no people skillz.

Actually met him in Cincy a few years back at the Flying Pig, and we had a good laugh with him - He was a gent, and although I don't endorse his methods, have to say he seems to be a very good fit for a lot of our runners.

Titihers, he probably wants to have my coffee with you.

I have chatted with Jeff on several occasions. He lives in Sandy Springs and every time I run past the Galloway School (named for his dad) at the north end of Chastain Park I always slow to a walk in his honour.

...well that and the fact there is a steep friggin hill there.
I've emailed Michele Langevin from his site but have only heard once from him about whether we're associated with coolrunning.com.

If you can get permission for me to call him and discuss some options, that would be enough. Email is hard to discuss this stuff. If he wants my number, I can give it to you for him, or if he'd rather - get his and I'll call him.

Alternately, you can have him email - [email protected]

Yahbut what am I trying to say?

This sounds dumb...but could someone type something and I could copy/paste something into an email?

I'm feeling "non-creative/not knowing what to say."

With that said...let's hope he responds...I don't know how many "personal" email addresses this guy has.
I dunno how you know him or how formal / informal you are with him. How about this?

I am the moderator of the Multi-Sports forum on KickRunners.com. The site started several years ago as an informal way for old running buddies to keep in touch, but has evolved rapidly over the last year into a thriving community of about 1200 active members. Some of that growth has been due to a migration from the old Cool Running site, and some has been via word-of-mouth.

The site is NOT intended as an alternate CoolRunning, every user is manually activated for example, so the troll population is kept to a minimum. "Respect" is the watchword.
The site is hosted (and the bills footed) privately by Richard Ford, and he's intent on keeping it as "ad-free" an experience as possible. I think that Rich is interested though in exploring a possible relationship along the same lines as the one you have with Active.

Give the board a look (www.kickrunners.com), and if you like what you see, drop Rich a line at SATFIX AT KICKRUNNERS DOT COM.
