I love baseball and baseball players more than just about anything in life - as long as they're on the field.

Having said that, two observations about ballplayers that I've noticed over the years:

1. They are universally disgusting human beings. I mean, just watch them, on the field, in the dugout, whatever - ick.

2. Many of them are douchebags.

Nevertheless, I love them, almost all of them, and if they're in Royal blue I would probably donate an organ to them if needed.

Sox have asked Royals about DeJesus

In need of outfield depth, the Red Sox have spoken to the Royals about the possibility of acquiring outfielder David DeJesus, according to FoxSports.com. Kansas City would like prospects in return for DeJesus, but it's unlikely the Red Sox would part with any top farmhands for what would essentially amount to a platoon player... According to the Globe's Nick Cafardo: "A solid offensive player who can play all three outfield positions, he is affordable at $4.7 million, with an option for next season at $6 million. The Red Sox, Yankees, and Padres are possible bidders, but the Royals are said to be asking for more return than is acceptable to the suitors."
