A pretty good month even though everything was really slow.

I got a new monthly PR with 278.5 miles (256 previous)

Comparing that to last year- It took me until March 30th last year to get 278 miles in for the year.

I was also a lot more diligent with the core work than usual (thanks to VRAA) and I lost the 10 pounds that I had gained being by lazy in December.

January I have not ran tonight yet but I am guessing 9 miles

so it should look like this..

Jan 124 miles run
about 50 miles walking
A bunch of weights and Core.

Very Happy with this number as only 17 miles for the past two weeks.

and I also have to give props to the VRAA for the walking, weights and core. Running props go to my friends for convincing me I can run an ultra this spring.

ANd If we compare to last January I wasnt running yet. I looked back and my first day of running was Feb 15th for about 2 tenths of a mile. mixed into a 2 mile walk.

Unfreaking believable difference. I'm surprised my legs still work.

Not including tonight's workout which will commence shortly:

116.2 miles running
13.8 miles elliptical
6.5 miles soccer
3.25 miles walking
16.33 miles spinning
?? Core weight/abdominal work (didn't keep a count of this but I did some)

A little low, but I was sick for a couple of days and had a family emergency too in the beginning of the month. Overall work demands also kept me from getting in some doubles this month. Miles should definitely increase in February before peak in March. April will largely be tapering towards Boston.

46 miles for me this month. Since I was hurt in December, I am just happy I am running.

Jan. 07- 0 miles, started running(C25K) again 1st week of Feb 2007...

I did not keep logs last year because my running was so sporadic... But just running every couple days is a PR for me.

175 total miles
about 17.5 hours of training, ironically

1 Race: 57:35 15k

January was pretty much my first month 'getting back into it'.. the numbers arelow.. 17.5 hours training is weak as hell. A lot of the blame goes to the weather.. I was a wimp about it and would avoid wind chill under 20 degrees... I can't do that when I go to college next year. I want to average at least 8 hours a week next month

February goals:
2/3 10k: 35:00
Total mileage: 240 (the pretty big increase will kick my butt, but.. its needed if I want to be where I want to be in march)
Hours spent training: 32

Total pushups: 900
Total sit ups: 2000

All in all it's been a good month. I run with less effort than I did when I left the team, and my morale is much higher. I'm getting excellent grades. It was about a month ago that you guys welcomed me to these forums.. so I really appreciate it. It's been very motivating to see others success and want to be a part of it. February will be even better.

edit: Tonya... if I was legal, would you marry me?

109 miles for me -- about half on the treadmill. My weight's up to 180, but I expect to shed about eight pounds over the next few months as my mileage increases. Never really paid attention to monthly totals before. Great -- something new to obsess about!

Nice month though, you'll be in great shape for the track season.

157.5 miles...I think a PR but I don't have my old log to back it up, and that's with all but one Sunday off, and 6 other days of sickness and no running. I think next month might break it again though.

I managed to put in 179.5 miles this month, which is a nice PR over December 2007. Interestingly, my prior max mileage for a January was only 85 miles (2007).

It would be nice to hit 200 miles in a month but given that my training will switch to shorter Spring races I may not reach that goal until the Summer. I'll also be adding more cycling back into my training to switch things up.

Sorry Phil. It was my effort at saying 'wow, that's badass.. especially for a female.' Hope no harm is done = D
