January goal is:

75 miles running'

Lose 5 pounds

What about you?

Get down under 225. Ideally, 222.

Not die with the workouts CC is feeding me.. which I hope will finally get me over a 30miles/wk running week. Damn near made it last week.

Apparently, as per my schedule, I'm getting my bike and swim on. I've got 10,000 yards this week. Looks like slacker time is over.

I have really mastered the art of spot-naps... I took a 35min nap before masters Wed. So I want to improve my nap skills. Nap and wake on command :)

I just found out that the two marathons I want to do this year have been scheduled for the same weekend in May - one Sat, one Sun. So...I'm entertaining the idea of doing both - racing the Saturday one, and just getting through the Sunday one. Yes, I know it's crazy. But the Saturday race (Palos Verdes) is an awesome low-key super fun race, and I have run the Sunday one (Pasadena) since it started and don't want to lost that streak. No matter what I'll do Pasadena...so the main goal for January will be to kick off marathon training starting next week.

Other goals:

- lose the holiday fluff and get under 140

- bike 1x/week and maybe swim 1x/every couple weeks (just to start getting ready for summer/fall tri's)

- refocus the diet, starting with getting rid of the junk food

1. Keep with my workouts....I've been doing a pretty good job of keeping with my schedule. Stay focused on my long runs. These suck for me. I can go knock out 5 or 6 no problem. But when I look at the calendar and I have 10 or 12 schedules, I get lazy.

2. Get under 150#

3. Get going with the weight training. Which will help significantly with #2, I think. And make #1 much less daunting.

January Goals:

o Recover sufficiently from New Year's Day marathon.

o Start run speedwork in build for spring marathons.

o Start longer hill sessions on the run. [If I can work this into my training in addition to speed, I will forgo Trainer time with the bike; otherwise this goal will be Trainer specific.] Do at a non-conforming time, outside of routine, for some spice.

o Cut back on the beer consumption.

o Figure out what marathon/marathon distance to run in February.

The keyword here is cut back. Life is far too short to cut out entirely things you enjoy. There's no way I'd cut out beer in entirty. There are far too many good ones out there yet to sample. The cut back here is from holiday levels. So, really, this is an easy goal for me, as just being back to normal routine cuts back to normal levels. So not so terrible. :)
