Good morning all.

28' and 17 MPh wind. Sitting here thinking about how cold it is. Especially when yesterday morning it was 40'. And I am not even schedule to go run. The plan is for 1000 Meter Time trial in the pool. The plan for the remainder of this week is to get all my TT out of the way. Then I am off to training for the next several weeks.

Happy training all.

Morning Dave - Good planning being in the pool this morning rather than oustide. I won't complain about 40 and rain here.

Heading out for another short run and bike a little later. No residual effects from yesterday's workout but will keep in very short for a few more days and then increase distance a little.

Hope everyone has great workouts today.

Dan - Hope you have a good run.

So much for the pool this morning. Went to the gym and the doors were closed. I guess I will have to try again at lunch. Don't know whether they will be open or not. Boy did that screw up my schedule for the week. Oh well! This wouldn't be any fun if it was easy.

So elected to come back to the office and get on the trainer for 30 minutes or so. Did 9 miles in 32.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Mornin' ya'll,

David- Nice workout, sorry you couldn't get your swim in
Dan- Have a good run and bike

I'll be stopping by the trail on my way home from work today to do about 3 miles or so. It's cold here today too, especially compared to how it was 50* and breezy yesterday. Overcast and in the 20's so far this mornin, supposed to climb up to the low to mid 30's but feel like it's in the 20's due to the windchill.

Have a good day and good workouts ya'll!

Megs - Enjoy your run this afternoon.

Richard & Alex - Those temps are way too cold for this old fart. I would have wussed out as well Richard.

It wasn't quite that cold here yesterday, but the wind was pretty intense. Right before I headed out for my run, I noticed that the Ridge Vent on my parent's roof had ripped halfway off from the wind the night before.
I hate wind, so I didn't really notice the cold because I was busy being annoyed at the wind. In retrospect, these kind of runs end up being my best runs some days because I kind of take it as a personal challenge when I get to run straight into the wind (which was a lot).

Got 7 in yesterday, so not a bad start to the year. I don't remember if I posted this already, but my run on Monday got me to just sneak over 2000 for the year, so hopefully I can beat that pretty handily by not sucking the first 2 months of the year.
I'll plan on doing at least 6 tonight, more if I'm feeling good.
Good runs today all.

Not running until tonight, but I want to remind all here that registration for the VRAA closes tonight. If you are new, check out the VRAA starting with this information thread.

It's looking like a powder snow run tonight!

Count me with the cold weather wimps camp. It is 30 degrees here and windy enough to feel like 20.

I have the sniffles, so I'm going to keep it inside tonight on the treadmill after taking a pilates class at the Y.

Good running and stay warm!

I will get in 5 miles later today. It is going to be cold again today, but should warm up over the next couple of days as a storm approaches. I hope everyone stays warm today. Those are some cold temperatures that you are having.

Sounds like we are all dealing with cold temps! Must be winter or sumthin...

Fishbowl for me this morning. That is after I dug my van out of the snow! Roads were interesting this morning. It all depended on if I was in Columbus proper, 'burb, or township.

swim--2600 on 1:05. Big goal is to work on pace.

Then, quick change to get ready for deep sea diving. Yah, so many layers I almost couldn't put my arms down... 16*, 20mph winds, and snow. I had planned on running the Last Chance for Boston course. HOwever, my neon yellow jacket must have a bull's eye on it, and I decided I really didn't want to be a hood ornament this morning. So, I stuck with my usual route on the sidewalk. Stuck with N/S road to stick with cross winds. Oh, and some drifts were about a foot deep! Not my best run, but I'll take it!

Still trying to get over the huge Illini disaster from yesterday. Ugh!

Wind chill is -5 right now, although it's been as low as -15. Not pretty, but oh well. I'd like to run outside at lunch today but it's been snowing so I don't think the streets will be great. I'll probably just wuss out and run on the treadmill over lunch.

And with the end of the bowl games yesterday came the end of my drinking for a while. So I guess that's good right? I topped out a +10 pounds, so it's time to start working that off. Probably 4-5 over lunch and then a bike workout after work.

Have a good one!

Since the recent snow is now iced over I'm planning on 6-7 miles on the indoor track or treadmill.

Hi everybody! Happy New Year to you all. Some nice workouts already going on this morning, jeez!

Plan today is to do a lunchtime run, maybe. I might spontaneously take the day off. I just haven't decided yet. I think it will probably depend on whether or not Phillip calls me to go to lunch with he, my sister-in-law, and her fiance. So, we'll see.

Cold here, as well. 3 degrees, though no snow.

sounds like some cold temps. hope everyone can get their workout in, in some way. i'm a bigfan of the outside, not much you the body can't bundle up and take I figure. Although it makes workouts quite unpleasent. So last yr at this time I had an infected blister and couldn't run. This yr a new yr, a new b-day, 22 yrs old today. Sweet, can run this yr, and to top it off i'm running amazing right now. fell down at the start of my run yesterday, slipping on ice. smoked an awesome 15-miles. got progressively stiffer in the knee and hip during the day. woke up and felt a bit better, tried to go out and run, stupid stupid, stupid. Made it 9-miles out of a planned 11, prob should have stopped at 4. was supposed to do a fartlek, decided against that. than figured i'd go 11, than figured i'd do a recovery day. couldn't accomplish any. did 8.5 in a little over an hr for about 7:10 pace. than over the course of walking 2.5 miles home, i ran a random 8 extra mins at slow as can be, prob not any faster than 12-13 min mile pace. so calling it 9 on the day in an hr 10 or so, but real run was 8.5 in about an hr. So frustrated. i've been plagged with injuries over the past yr. infected blisters, foot run over by car, no fluid in my shin so it creaked whenever i moved it, and now this. up until this yr, i've never been hurt. and I'd be ok with it, if it was from the 90-100 miles a week i'm doing, but it's all random, freak stuff. Gah the double is out today, icing and hoping tomorrow i can move and not burst out in tears like today, sorry for the depressing post, some b-day. have great runs everyone, do em for those who can't, running is to precious of a thing to take for granted.

Morning everyone,

It seems cold is the order of the day. 28F when I left the house for work this morning with the wind blowing. Luckily for me, today was a planned spin workout day anyway and I was not planning to be outside. That will be in about 90 minutes from now.

Good job by all those who've gotten out and braved the cold already. But I'm not a winter person, so I'm not going to get on anybody who's decided to keep it indoors today either.

Workout report later.

It is chilly here today also & windy. I was planning on doing core workout at gym and run outside tonight, however it is getting more windy as the day goes on. Maybe I will hit the TM at lunch instead. Will report later with results.
