My issue arrived in the mailbox yesterday. I am only through the first dozen pages, but I am impressed so far. Good article by Shawn McDonald on planning annual training for the new year.

Kudos to "Sherpa" John Lacroix for his article on becoming a new RD. Good luck to you and your endeavor to bring more ultra races to the New England region.

I've only breezed through the race reports, but I'm happy to read about Connie Gardner's (local NE Ohioan) near record result at Ultracentric 24 hour. I haven't talked to her since then, but I imagine the heartbreak of coming up only 40 meters short of the national 24 hour record of 145.286 miles. Incredible.

Any other KR'ers mentioned in this issue?

Now if I could only get people to sign up!

Thanks for the Kudos bud! It's a LOT harder than people think and I really feel the work of other RD's is highly under estimated and under appreciated. Currently I am working with the Forest Service to attain permits and then I have about 50 private land owners to contact about using their land... and then I start worrying about aid stations and volunteers. And only two people have sign up.. its early yet though... besides.. who is crazy enough to run 200 miles anyway?!

SHERPA - well, seeing as how I just this weekend ventured out past the 26.2 mile mark, it's a wee bit early to sign up for a 100 mile fun run

If I had the miles under my belt, I'd run your race, no doubts

It sounds like an interesting read. I'll have to look out for the publication -- would it be available at a good newsstand to check out an issue or two?

Good luck with your RD endeavors, Sherpa John.

I don;t think it is available on new stands. They have a website: http://www.ultrarunning.com/

Its worth the subscription! Its a lot of race reports and results, some editorials.. and a lot of GOOD SCIENCE!

I haven't got the latest issue yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Overall, what do you guys think of the new editors?

And Sherpa, I don't know where I'll be living next fall, but it's it's anywhere in Eastern Canada then I'll be signing up for the 200.
