Good morning Sunshines!

13miles in the cold (starting temp at 9F) but beautiful sunny morning with Jane & Leslie. Hit the metro park - first time in 9 months? - boy I always forget how hilly the course is (ok, in SE Michigan's standard). I planned 15miles but I ran a little harder than expected on slippery roller so called it a day when the other two were done at 13. 48.5miles this week w/ 3 swims and 2 strength sessions & yoga.

Yo Sake - 9?? Like single digits? Eek!!!! You're brave!!

A nice 6-miler with my A #1 running partner. We haven't run together since before our November marathons, so it was nice to catch up. Just took it nice and easy and enjoyed the cool (not 9 degrees cool, but like 50 cool) morning and the company.

Had a group run this morning, we ran 9.5 miles, the last 20 minutes we did some hill repeats at a moderate pace. We have people cycling here in groups in 9 degrees. Today it was 11 and I drove by two packs on the way home. A guy I ran with did a 4 hour ride last week when it was in the teens. People are tough around here I need to get out there next weekend. Not sure how they keep their fluid from freezing.

My daughter got back into swim lessons after a few years off, she did really good. She had a good time so hopefully she'll stick with it. She's a natural.

First brick of 2011!

18 min on the trainer and 4 miles outside around the pond.

Sun was out, but so was the wind.

(edit)

Must confess that, had I looked at the split right after the run, I would have realized that it wasn't 4 miles before I played with the dogs, had chocolate milk & a banana, showered, and mapped the route. Doh! 3.6 miles. Had no excuse to not do strength workout this evening.

2 hr group trainer ride this morning. Did a lot of low cadence and threshold work. Building the base.

1 hr easy recovery run around noon today. 8 miles. 49 for the week. Not bad, but I need to start layering on the mileage as I start up my speedwork.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Scott I've been thinking the same thing. Good thing I'm teaching endurance spin on Sundays, so I have an excuse not to HTFU and get out there. I'm thinking insulated bottles (the polar ones) and drink mix would prevent freezing- just have to worry about the nipple getting clogged. That's always my problem.

for me, 2.5 hour endurance spin class. Small turnount, most of the regulars are in Florida. Bah! For us... 30min w/up w/ 4x1 min (1) leg, then 4x3min ME, then 2x30 Z2, then 4x3min ME. Base stuff.

Amazing that you all get out there in such cold temps. I've done it, but just not used to it. I don't even own cold weather running stuff - I think I have a pair of tights somewhere.... :)

Seriously...you're all awesome. And I agree - I'd rather get outside than get on the mill.

2 hours dance class this morning still has my legs feeling like jello. Love that feeling! Settling in for the night - work already called a snow day for tomorrow...and there isn't any sign of snow yet. No complaints here!

12 miles on the TreadMill. didn't mentally have it in me to be out in the wind, but hey, 12 miles done. I was going for 16, but ran into a bad toe, I'll baby it.
