Top of the morning runners! 30 min on the treadmill aka 2.74 miles. I haven't run this many days in a row since over a year ago!

I had the gym to myself until 5:45 this morning. Ah.
Thanks! :) Sunday sounds perfect. I need to get in an hour of running. Also, my pace is slow these days given all the inactivity. Bear with me.

Good morning, Nettie, and all who follow. Nice job getting back into it...

I was off again yesterday. The back is better, but still a little tender. So I figured it was better to rest it up. But only 8 weeks until the next marathon, so I'd better get my butt in gear soon.

Speaking of which, I still haven't booked my flight or hotel for Little Rock yet. It looks as though there are plenty of options available, so I guess I'm not in a super hurry. But I should probably do something fairly soon. RFTL will be there, right? Anyone else? I guess I haven't decided if I'll stay one night or two. The one night thing worked fine in Charlotte. In March, it looks as though I'll fly into Memphis and drive in instead of flying into Little Rock. That'll be much cheaper. And I can fly back out of Memphis either Sunday night after the race or some time on Monday. I haven't decided whether I want to wait the extra day or not. Again, flying out a few hours after the race worked well in Charlotte. But I don't know if I want to throw a 2 hour drive into the mix there or not. Obviously it'd save money on hotels and food to fly out the same day. But maybe that's not safe. Hmmm... I'd better decide something soon before everything gets booked and my decision gets made for me...

Maria, I should've mentioned this yesterday. I've had my eye on this ultra in CT for a few years. I've just never had the guts to pull the trigger yet. It's on Apr 23 this year. It's not too far away (and obviously I've got a place to stay in CT anyway), and it'd be a new state for me. I don't know which timing works best. The NJ one you pointed out yesterday is two weeks after my marathon in Arkansas. This ultra is 4 weeks before my potential idiotic 40 miler. So maybe this timing works better. I dunno...

Excellent job again this morning Nettie! MN is good for you!

Bob - I just booked Little Rock flight this week. Flying in Saturday a.m. about 10:00 and flying out Monday morning about 10:00. I like staying the night of the marathon so I can treat myself to some post-race beers.

Got 8.7 miles done this morning. Temp was 10. Heatwave!

So Litch, you want to run that 50k with me?

I suppose I should register for that HM in Danbury. I think that fits in well between Little Rock and this ultra in CT. Hmm, it looks like I'm leaning towards this now, eh?

RFTL, I know what you mean about post-race beers. At this point, I'm leaning towards staying the 2nd night. But saving $100 or more is also appealing... I'll decide soon...

Hi all - 5.75 mi run yesterday, which is the longest run since my calf issues. Just lookin forward to re-establish the old routine again with some workout after work tonight.

Bakery and coffee after running is very good...though in this particular case it's about 16 hours since my last run

We normally have breakfast together after a long run and sometimes after speedwork or a Wednesday w/o, food and beer. :)

Running last night - I ended up getting in 52 laps - 8 miles. It was ok. I kept on getting a side stitch and the place was crowded. Attention: walkers -move to the inside and for goodness sake - keep those elbows to yourself.

Got in a wee bit of biking this morning and running hopefully 6 after work.

Hello! Back from Nola. Just missed meeting Tiff and waved at TimR as we drove through Birmingham, but I see from facebook he wasn't there one of the times;) Lots of walking and one day on the hotel TM. Not enough to fully counteract the gluttony, but the scale was kinder than I deserved. Back on the better eating track today!

How do you know you're taking a rest on April 23? :D

I'm going up to the running store to run the 8 mile loop and then pick up my packet for Saturday's race.

Did I mention that I finished 2nd Overall for Alabama in the Brooks ID Flotrack series. Yeah, there's was only about 11 participants and I got beat by my training partner Wade. Anyway, we all ended up with the same prize. I got a new Brooks Hoody (Blue). And a free pair of shoes, my choice. They changing the Brooks ID program for next year and all of us in Bham who were on it last year, got kicked down the new Brooks Fanatics program. We'll see how that goes.
