99 Iowa precincts meet tonight for the 2012 Iowa Caucus.

Me: 1.6 brisk walking miles with the M-Dawg - almost felt like jogging. Shouted at The Diesel. Chatted with The Hammer God and the Andy-man at the end. 3/3.

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

The Dawg is in da house!!!

Long weekend recap...

Friday: 6 mile trail run at Goldsmith Reservation with the Andyman.

Saturday: 5+ mile trail run at Ward Reservation, my all-time favorite place to run trails, with Joe.

Sunday: New Year's Boston Marathon - Had a total of 14 people run at least part. 10 at the start with folks joining and leaving until mile 17. From there on in it was 5 of us, 4 who went all the way. We were slow going, completing the course in a steady on time of 4:49, which enabled me to do each of the last three Newton Hill two times. So I logged probably 27+ miles on the day. Best part was seeing the thrill in people's eyes upon us finishing. One guy teared up thanking me for putting it together. That made it all worth it.

Monday: 1+ mile Keep-the-Streak-Alive run.

Tuesday: 5.65 mile typical Tuesday run. Great to have LRR back!

Great day, y'all!

Ladder interval run this morning:

10 min warm up, then- (400, 600, 800, 1200, 800, 600, 400 with 400 easy recovery between each), 10 min cool down. Came out to 53:04 and 6.81 miles. Was able to hit my planned pace on the first 3 intervals, then I just barely missed it on the last 4. Part of that was that nature started calling on my recovery between 800 and 1200. I would have stopped if I wasn't so bundled up. Temp was 10 with a wind chill of -2 Fahrenheit (that's around -12 and -16 Celsius for those not in the US). My hands actually got gold while I was running, even though I was wearing gloves.

Strength and core this afternoon.

5.7 mile lunch run - about 8 mms. Legs were really tight afterwards - maybe from cold (I wasn't exactly overdressed for the low 20's) ... but not too bad now. It's nice to be running traffic free (just an out and back on the old air base - up to a nature preserve and back). Not quite the same without company though ... miss running buddy from the old place.

Still haven't found the motivation to rise early and get some doubles in... Maybe next week.

LRR - way to go, 3/3!

Thor - sounds like another successful Boston marathon day!

zojmn - good news!

X - I am impressed with your dedication of doing the speed work under that kind of harsh temp. I wimped out at windchill in teens...

So took the interval to the TM. 2miles WU, 5x1000m at 6:53pace. The legs felt kind of weak and the pace was a bit challenging but HR was low. Actually quite a bit lower compared the last week, exact same workout on the same TM. Would like to think my fitness is improving. Total 8 miles.

Also 40min. strength workout.

Jumping in and catching up.

Monday = 2 mile run/walk

Tuesday = 1st total DOR since before TurkeyDay. My knee needed it. Strangely, it was acting up post run. I'm not sure if it was run related, or something else. It's much better now.

Wednesday = 2.5k rowing EARLY; an hour of DT work after work. I'm looking forward to the post accident stuff ending soon. Please.

Thor - nice job on the marathon!!

Late post for yesterday...did a 4-miler on the TM in the morning, and 1500 in the pool last night. Swimming felt way better than the previous day - much smoother in the water.
