Seriously? No thread yet?

17 miles on TM done! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. At least I didn't have to deal with the weather elements. Playing with the speed buttons helped tons in the early miles. 2 miles wu then, 6x1200m at "T" (7:30) pace with 1 min recovery, then 2 miles easy. Took a mental break there. And coninued on with 9 more miles I think. Had to change the TM half way because my mp3 ran out of the battery (in the middle of Car Talk ) There is a newer TM with USB attachment where the mp3 gets juice. Unfortunately I couldn't get the FM radio but the blackeyed peas' music kept me going. Progressively faster toward th end to finish the last quarter mile at <7:50 pace. I know from the HR the overall pace was easy but pretty happy how I felt throughout.

Now accompanying DD for the mall shopping

Looked like rain this morning, so opted to ride indoors - did 1:15 on the trainer while catching up on recorded TV shows. Recovery week ends today - back to the grind tomorrow!

Great job, Yoshi! The longest dreadmill run I ever did was only twelve miles... then again, I think it took me longer than your 17. :)

Read Admiral Byrd's Alone while I was waiting for him to run in the freeeeezing cold (too cold for me to get my scheduled run in outside).

Then we drove home to watch the pats... and I fell asleep right after halftime of the giants/niner's game. Woke up just long enough to stumble to bed before OT. Apparently I was tired.

Had a great run late this morning. 4.36 miles. Sun was mostly out and temps were in the 20s. Was able to run away from traffic and on surfaces that were in pretty good condition. Body felt awesome and pace was nice and easy. HRM bonkers again, however, with lots of readings 180-190-200 and a max of 221. Um, no. Will change the battery in the strap and cross my fingers that takes care of the issue. Sigh.

Did a tough trainer workout consisting of Coach Troy's Time Saver workouts B and C (B = 90 sec threshold intervals, C = 10 sec sprints), FIB a slow painful 3 mile run.

This was my 16th consecutive day of running (kind of a closet streak, just to see what it's like) and I think the streak is over for now. Too many pains starting to crop up. I believe I made a significant mistake in that I put my easy runs on the same day as hard trainer workouts - seems pretty logical until you get to what would otherwise be a rest day and now face a 3-4 mile run instead. Net result = 2 weeks without a truly easy day. Bad. Better, I think, to do longer runs on bike days, even at the expense of the trainer quality, and keep one or two days a week EASY - one or two mile run at most.

May try again in a few weeks.
